Fukken Edit:
Calling this shit off. I don't want brain damage, and the record is no longer registered.

[release]Randy Gardner holds the scientifically documented record for the longest period of time a human being has intentionally gone without sleep not using stimulants of any kind. Gardner stayed awake for 264 hours (11 days), breaking the previous record of 260 hours held by Tom Rounds of Honolulu.[/release]
Yes, FP. At age 16 I am attempting to break the world record for the longest (officially documented) length of time without sleep. I need to go for 12 days.
As you can probably tell just by reading it, this is only a practice run right now. I have no monitoring equipment. At this moment in time, it's 12:51am on day #2.
A Q&A for you:
Could you die?
Very easily. I was nearly hospitalised when I went for five days about six months ago.
If you're being 'monitored', do people watch you all the time?
No. Equipment monitoring. I'm too paranoid to have people watching me all the time anyway.
Shouldn't you start when you feel better?
I didn't party on new year's. (:saddowns:)
Why?
In the name of science.
Do it man.
Please don't try and put this down or tell me I won't make it. I'm determined to try this, and then do it officially.
Apparently it starts to feel great after a few days.
This is too dangerous. It's a stupid idea and a pointless world record. There's literally no reason to do it.
You wont make it.

Yeah, good luck doing a little over twice the time.
You can do it, you can do it..
How do you survive?
Seriously. That shit isn't healthy.
After day three, you'll be tripping balls.
Well, good luck, hope you don't kill yourself in the process.
why don't you pick some world record to break that means you won't die?
Oh yeah i know you said don't put it down but if it's a stupid idea and unsafe then i don't see a probelm with saying this.

This man speaks the truth.
Have fun thinking you are a stop sign and then having serious mental conditions.

Don't go out and start secret underground fight clubs plotting to overthrow organized government.
You're crazy.
Such a thing is admirable though.
I stayed awake for almost 3 days once, after a while you start to feel physically ill. Good luck.
Going without sleep for that long can have some serious affects on your health. Without sleep your body can't repair itself and long term you could develop brain damage. Also the current world record holder probably had some form of training to ready his body for the worst, if your going to do it at least make sure that you can handle it. If 5 days had you almost hospitalised then you sure as hell aren't gonna be coping well by day 11.
I always get REALLY cold when I stay up for more than 2 days.
I'm sure Guinness stopped giving out world records for staying awake.
If it's officially monitored it counts.
Besides, I'm 16. I probably broke a record at five days.

what makes you think you can more than double the 5 days without hospitalising yourself?
what makes you think you can more than double the 5 days without hospitalising yourself?
Determination, motivation and support from other people.
That and a fuckton of caffeine (I have a dependency anyway) sugar and guarana.
Don't do this without medical advice / training your body to do it, you're going to kill yourself or at the very least put yourself in a hospital bed for a very long time. The human body isn't designed to stay awake for extreme lengths of time.
If you want to go ahead and do it without any kind of thought for your safety, go for it, but it's your funeral.

You're fucked.
Seriously, don't do this. Go take a nap or something.

I've been going for 1-2 days without sleep for a while now, then having a regular night. I guess that counts for something.
