http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/story/2013/07/08/toronto-weather-heavy-rain.html
Heavy rains have left cars stranded in the streets of Toronto and some 300,000 customers without power as a wicked summer storm poured a month's worth of rain on some parts of the city on Monday evening. The rain started arriving ahead of the supper hour, which caused severe flooding, major public transit delays and power outages across the city. Pedestrians sought shelter where they could as they waited out the weather.
I'm a few hours north of Toronto, so I'll possibly be getting this soon (Depending on the direction of the storm). I always do love a good storm. I wouldn't worry too much about the Canadians, we're a hardy people. [editline]stuff[/editline] Flooding does suck though.
I'm living downtown Toronto at the moment, and a few hours ago I looked outside to see the sky basically... well, everything else seemed to disappear but the sky. My facebook page seems to be flooded with messages of basement apartments with uncomfortable amounts of water. It makes me rather glad I live pretty high up.
yee torontooo. FUCK you calgary. think you can flood and steal all the canadian news. fuckin RIGHT toronto on the grid again. floodin all over. like 10x more water than calgary. like so much water. WOO! TORONTO! GO LEAFS!
First calgary and area, now my home city. Well I'm sure Toronto can take it. But hoping everyone is okay and well.
I'm about an hour away from Toronto, we didn't get shit. Just a little sprinkle and that was that.

Please don't post dumb things like this. People died in the floods in Alberta.
this is really dumb you act like a city flooding is a good idea and before that you say fuck you to another city that flooded
It's satire. I'm being funny. You're supposed to laugh. HA. HA. [editline]9th July 2013[/editline] sorry, no hard feelings alberta.
Clearly all these floods are part of a quebecois separatist scheme to turn quebec into an independant island nation
yes, yes, and the Lac-Mégantic train explosion was an espionage act by the harper government against the bloc
I'm on vacation in Toronto at the moment. We check in, go to our 24th floor room, relax for a bit, and then the power goes out :v: Elevators still aren't working but at least the power is back. Apparently it is pretty bad. It got dark really fucking fast around 5ish
Well at least my boyfriend is safe.
Ugh I was here just a few days ago, and actually my uncle owns a condo just to left outside of this shot. You never even consider this sort of thing happening in Toronto. [editline]8th July 2013[/editline] Actually I saw a brony in a fedora & ponytail walking with a dude decked out in zipper-adorned gear right next to that lamp post
My family members lost their homes in the flood, I don't find any of this funny.
At least he lives up to his name.
Talking to a friend in Toronto. He says all is fine there for him. No flooding, even though he lives in the basement section of an apartment complex.
Toronto got jealous that Alberta was stealing their wind so it decided that it had to flood so it was the center of the universe again!
It's satire. I'm being funny. You're supposed to laugh. HA. HA.
Either: A: backpedaling or B: really, REALLY shitty satire
I got off the subway just before they cancelled service, I'm so glad I left work a bit early, and I haven't had power since 6:30, but at least I live on top of a hill. The entire rest of the city will need to flood before I need to worry. Also having 2 rivers draining into a lake helps a bit.

Lulu Island dodges another bullet!
Train explosion in Quebec, flooding in Calgary, flooding in Toronto, not a good couple of weeks for the Canucks.
Lulu Island dodges another bullet!
Hey! I can see the chop shop I bought my replacement window at!
I was stuck in traffic for around 2 hours on the Gardiner Expressway. Absolute chaos in the Young-Dundas area, I'm glad the basement parking where I park didn't flood.
All my friends experienced a +/- 6 hour black out while I was sitting by my desk playing ARMA 3... And content! http://globalnews.ca/news/702927/time-lapse-storm-blows-across-toronto-skyline/
I've still got no damn power, it's coming up on 6 hours now, and I'm not even in a flood zone.
I've still got no damn power, it's coming up on 6 hours now, and I'm not even in a flood zone.
Thank god for smartphones.
My family members lost their homes in the flood, I don't find any of this funny.
The first time Johnny Guitar wrote with proper capitals and stops. We should take him seriously.
