Hong Kong (CNN) -- The North Korean army has declared invalid the armistice agreement that ended the Korean War in 1953, the official newspaper of the country's ruling Workers' Party said Monday.
WELP http://www.cnn.com/2013/03/11/world/asia/north-korea-armistice/index.html?hpt=hp_t1
This is bad.
Er ok North Korea jokes over you can stop this shit now.
It'll suck that SK will have to pay for NK's stupidity that is if it should escalate
Er ok North Korea jokes over you can stop this shit now.
They won't stop it until the either stop any sanctions against them, or we kick them to the curb. They've gone beyond meaningful discussion
This is bad.
No, it's not. They won't do anything. I really don't want to have to carry over the debate from the last NK thread into this one.
Goodbye, North Korea.
They won't stop it until the either stop any sanctions against them, or we kick them to the curb. They've gone beyond meaningful discussion
You don't know how North Korea operates. They've done this same back-and-forth since Kim Jong Il was running the place.
Heheh, uh NK buddy you can stop that now. You don't want us to clean up a really big mess because you want attention right? [editline]11th March 2013[/editline] I wonder if we are going to witness the part of history where NK gets completely obliterated?
You don't know how North Korea operates. They've done this same back-and-forth since Kim Jong Il was running the place.
Never to this extent. NK has always- ALWAYS- kept the armistice intact because they rely on the South for aid. This is the first time they've ever gone this far. I would be concerned/

They've made that armistice invalid like six times in the past thirty years. [editline]11th March 2013[/editline]
;39874292']Never to this extent.
;39874292']Never to this extent. NK has always- ALWAYS- kept the armistice intact because they rely on the South for aid. This is the first time they've ever gone this far. I would be concerned/
Except they also declared they wouldn't abide by it 4 years ago.

I would be concerned/
You didn't read the article. It's not exactly ambiguous:
Has the North ended the armistice before? Yes.
If you people actually read the article it says so right there.
Has the North ended the armistice before? Yes. In 2003, Pyonyang's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) announced that it may have "no option" but to stop honoring the armistice because of the United State's "persistent war moves." In 2009, North Korea said its military would no longer be bound by the agreement because South Korea was joining a U.S.-led anti-proliferation plan.
So NK is just kicking up dirt again. At this rate people are going to flip their shit every time NK does something like this.

Don't take things for granted though.

I honestly thought it was going to say "North Korea declares war on [insert country here]" Although I guess this is kind of close.
Dont forget the third time, There really was a wolf.
And don't forget that nobody helped the boy and his shit got wrecked
Still not worried anything will happen.
If you people actually read the article it says so right there.
But it never ended the armistice. "It may have no option but to stop honoring the armistice" and to "not be bound by it" are not officially ending it. The article is wrong- the North has yet to officially end the armistice agreement, merely threaten.

:buddy:
Still not worried anything will happen.
Watch out! Kim Jong-un might shoot a rainbow out his ass and blind the western aggressors! Seoul would be destroyed in minutes!
Being the eternal optimist I believe they declared it invalid because they want a peace treaty immediately
Still not worried anything will happen.
Why would anyone who isn't in South Korea be remotely worried?
Why would anyone who isn't in South Korea be remotely worried?
Another Korean war would almost certainly require a draft.

Can't we just nuke the shit out of Pyongyang so the people will be liberated? Many innocents will die but alot more will be liberated.
Just went to the North Korean newspaper's site and found this hilarious extract.
◇ Petition to Be Allowed to Join or Rejoin Army All people who can take rifle are petitioning to be allowed to join or rejoin the People’s Army in all provinces and towns. A war veteran in an advanced age of 80 says: "I am still keeping a bullet that I failed to fire at a trench in the 1950s because the U.S. imperialists and their stooges signed an armistice agreement. Instead of learning a lesson from their miserable defeat, they are trying to trigger off a war. It is really ridiculous. Send me to the trench. Give me a rifle. I want to rain bullets on the enemy to my heart's content." Not only the war veteran, but all other people stand at the trench as soldiers.
What :v: Here: http://www.rodong.rep.kp/InterEn/index.php?strPageID=SF01_02_01&newsID=2013-03-11-0014
