A Texas Pee Wee football league has ruled that a 300-pound seventh-grader is too big to play, according to Dallas-Fort Worth television station KDFW Fox 4's website.Elijah Earnhardt, 12, was informed this past weekend by the Mesquite Pee Wee Football Association that he is not allowed to play in the league, according to the report posted on MyFoxDFW.com.
The league's rule is that any seventh-grader weighing more than 135 pounds is barred and must play in his school's league, according to the report.
But Earnhardt, who is more than 6 feet tall, and his mother, Cindy, told the website that they still are pushing for admission into the league.
"I don't want to play in school right now because it's people that's had experience and I want to get some experience first and then start playing," Elijah Earnhardt told the website. "I just want to play because my teammates are my friends -- I know them. I don't want to go play for somebody else I don't know."
Cindy Earnhardt told MyFoxDFW.com that she plans to protest the league's decision.
"For him to come home and just cry and go to his room and say, 'I give up,' I'm not going to let him give up," she said. "This is his dream. This is what he wants to do. And I'm going to make it happen."
Elijah Earnhardt's coach, Marc Wright, also will protest the decision, according to the report. He cited multiple players within the league who are over the 135-pound limit.
"If they're over 135, they have to wear a symbol on their helmet, which is the X," Wright told the website. "So if they're an X-man they have to play offensive line, defensive line only."
Mesquite Pee Wee Football Association president Ronnie Henderson told the website that he sympathizes with Earnhardt but maintained that they must adhere to the league's rule.
"The coach over there should have known this," Henderson said. "He's been told this. He's been to our meetings. He knows this. I don't know where the misunderstanding was. We hate it. I don't like it for the kid or the parents."
I saw new coverage of this on CNN or something, it is actually pretty sad because the kid seems pretty cool. All he really wants to do is play football with his buds but they're not letting him because of some stupid technicality. He can join a school team but he does not want to due to the fact he will have to play against his friends.
Pretty shitty, though with how big this kid is and if he gets really good I can see him getting a scholarship and going to a good college. Shit may even become a professional.

I feel that it's less a technicality and more "holy shit he's gonna crush the other kids like toothpaste tubes" :v:
Yeah theres nothing wrong with their decision
Im 236 pounds and i have decent trouble blocking a 360 lbs defensive lineman
300 pounds 6 ft tall against little kids below 135 lbs is just horrendous rape
I mean come on hes huge as fuck
A 300lb, 6ft tall twelve year old? Might as well make the children play against an actual bulldozer.
Any ideas how he became this way? Or just genetics?

It's just big bones.
the kid's naturally massive, he isn't even fat or anything
Quite dense too, it would seem (not mentally)
I would want to see a single game in which he was playing against other 12 year olds.
It would be like watching a trainwreck in slow motion.
Reminds me of this kid.

holy shit its like micheal oher
Also, an observation I've made of giant kids like this, I was a really small baby when I was born, I was born a month early actually. Going through birth it so happened I was diagnosed with asthma, and needed a puffer. Now since there's kinds of steroids in the inhalants you're given, it helped in my growth to 6'4", along with two other really big people I knew, who also had asthma.
It honestly plays a big factor in situations like this.

Have you ever seen a fat skeleton?
Didn't think so! This guy's the size of real football players. I say put him on the field and reap the rewards
when i was in school, there were some god damn giants
like "this guy will surely stomp on us all" giants

?
I understand the concern, simply make him to play older competition then. If all he wants is to play football on the school team with his friends, well unfortunate that can't happen. If he wants to play the sport itself, I'm sure they can arrange something.
It's alright, he can just go play Basketball instead.
12 years old, over 6 feet tall and 300 pounds?
Yeah, I can see him knocking the everloving shit out of his classmates on accident.

Lmfao sorry no, salbutamol isn't a steroid, and corticosteroids are not anabolic (growth promoting) steroids.
The fact you and two other people who have asthma are 6'4 is merely coincidence. I have a friend who has the same drugs you are given and he is fucking tiny.

yeah i guess thats why my constant inhaler use due to chronic asthma has shot me up to the dizzying height of 5'6

I'm not surprised they're not letting him play, looks like his shoulder's deformed or something.

That's a shoulderpad isn't it?

Yeah, football. That's what you call soccer.
He would rip those kids apart if he was allowed to play.
I completely understand this decision.
Yeah, I can't blame them. I mean, yeah, not letting him play is disappointing to him, but I'm pretty sure if they did let him play the other kids would also be very disappointed when this kid comes down upon them like a rocket-propelled train.
