And to think we held of the massive german invasion in WWII for 2 days with dated musket rifles and vastly overwhelming numbers. And the Dutch joined the Allies and contributed their surviving naval and armed forces to the defense of East Asia, in particular the Netherlands East Indies. Until their liberation in 1945, the Dutch fought alongside the Allies around the globe, from the battles in the Pacific to the Battle of Britain.
