So Toonami is now on Adult Swim? I thought that was just an April Fools thing.
really cool how they reviewed this out of all the new games that have come out from bigger companies

When they realized it was such a big hit maybe they tried putting more of the content on.
It's still so embarrassing to see Slender everywhere yet the guy who made it still didn't make a better slenderman model. It's just so bad looking, while the environment and everything else looks so good.
I played it this weekend, it wasn't that scary at all to me

Personally, I have yet to find a game/mod scarier then AOM:DC: http://www.moddb.com/mods/afraid-of-monsters-dc While at the same time giving me a fantastic game experience in general. Cry Of Fear was not as scary.
Dat unknown rating.

Cry of Fear was kind of disappointing honestly. It wasn't really scary, it wasn't terribly fun, and it didn't even look as good as the screenshots indicated.
Afraid of Monsters, well, I dunno. The only reason it's scary is that it's fucking full of jump scares and there's never a reasonable amount of ammo. (Plus -- needing to find batteries. Just a pain in the ass more than anything.) The level design was also mazelike. In a bad way.

From my perspective, the maze-like level design contributed to its atmosphere, which was that of confusion, brutality, and paranoia. One of the only times in which it heavily overdid it was during the hospital level. The game actually had extremely well crafted atmosphere, and always kept you uneasy and uncomfortable.
He should try SCP: Containment Breach.
What about Nightmare House 1 and/or 2.
Nightmare House 1 was a well crafted experimental map. The second one was EXTREMELY kickass and enjoyable, but it was not scary.

I forgot how much that song made me not take Slenderman seriously.
playing this game with a group of friends is a hell of a lot of fun
