Say, football or hockey. She's gone from being your little girl to becoming a beautiful young woman. Opposite her on the field (or ice), is somebody who once was a man, until he decided that he didn’t feel like being one anymore. This person can now legally, physically attack your daughter. This makes liberals rejoice. How progressive. ..It’s only natural for human beings to get squeamish at the sight of a lifelong male pummeling dames mercilessly... ...On a related note, Fallon Fox has being using steroids for decades. They’re called testicles. If you’ve had them, grown up with them and used them... you don't get to beat up women. Still, painting this like it's domestic abuse or a random thug beating up young girls is disturbing.. it's MMA fighting ffs. :v:
This just in, transgenders only get sex changes in order to legally beat up the opposite gender. :tinfoil: It's the gay agenda.
..It’s only natural for human beings to get squeamish at the sight of a lifelong male pummeling dames mercilessly...
It may just be the sort of person who still calls women 'dames' in 2013.

Not even addressing his opinion, this is a terrible standard of writing for professional journalism wow. Addressing the issue at hand however, he does have certain valid points, that I imagine most here aren't even going to stop to consider because of how strongly they feel about LGBT social issues.
In the name of political correctness, leftists have come out championing the cause, as Fallon ragdolls female opponents into oblivion.
Bullshit. I see it this way, either start a transgender league or let them fight. It's the other fighters choice to fight not ours, if she want's to fight a transgender then so be it.

I think it's bullshit, if you step into the ring you should know who you're up against. On the other hand, the debate of which gender transgender people should play in is entirely valid. There's a reason we keep men and womens sport seperate.
Not even addressing his opinion, this is a terrible standard of writing for professional journalism wow.
Op-eds aren't journalism and this guy isn't a journalist. Hell, most people on Fox News won't claim to be journalists, they self-identify as entertainers or pundits.
Op-eds aren't journalism and this guy isn't a journalist. Hell, most people on Fox News won't claim to be journalists, they self-identify as entertainers or pundits.
Yes it is. Journalism: Noun 1. The activity or profession of writing for newspapers or magazines or of broadcasting news on radio or television. 2. The product of such activity. Being an opinion piece isn't an excuse for shit writing. I don't criticize the writing in Twilight for it's content, I criticize it for being poor writing.
Bullshit. I see it this way, either start a transgender league or let them fight. It's the other fighters choice to fight not ours, if she want's to fight a transgender then so be it.
Better to just let them fight, a whole "transgender league" would generate loads of butthurt from insecure white christian Americans (aka mma's audience) and wouldn't get viewed
Opposite her on the field (or ice), is somebody who once was a man, until he decided that he didn’t feel like being one anymore.
Yeah right, the guy just one day woke up and thought "I want to be a woman now" then went to a gender surgery.
Women shouldn't be getting in the way of his fists. [sp]Abuse isn't a joke unless it's in a bar or a kitchen.[/sp]
Better to just let them fight, a whole "transgender league" would generate loads of butthurt from insecure white christian Americans (aka mma's audience) and wouldn't get viewed
I like MMA and I'm not American or Christian.
Don't quite quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure a few other sports actually have rules against transgendered women for this very reason. Not the moral man-beating-a-woman thingy, but the fact that a man quite objectively is stronger than a woman of equal fitness or whatever. It's less about LGBT rights and more about fair sportsmanship. Of course, the retard who wrote this article doesn't argue for it that way.

i don't understand why hitting girls is so taboo. if you're a girl, and you get punched in the face, tough shit. cry about it.
Even though they call themselves news channels there isn't anything on TV that I would consider real actual news.
BBC news
you know you still have to provide evidence even if you say "don't quote me on this" right?
He is generally right though. Its the reason why there are separate male and female sports in the first place. Its so everyone has equal footing.
you know you still have to provide evidence even if you say "don't quote me on this" right?
Evidence for what? That there are physical differences between adult men and adult women beyond genitalia, primarily muscle buildup, that aren't obliterated by surgery? The writer of this article is a massive tool but he's right about one thing, and it's that this could very easily be seen as unfair for the other competitors who haven't had a lifetime of testosterone. I can't think of any good solution but it's a legitimate concern.
As fuck-awfully as this article is written, this is true:
...On a related note, Fallon Fox has being using steroids for decades. They’re called testicles.
A lifetime of exposure to testosterone and other male hormones will give an MTF trans female a massive advantage over a non-trans female.
This transgender issue in sports is a on going problem, a male now transgendered female will have an advantage over a natural born female. They may take hormone pills to alter their appearance but underneath (I believe so anyway, correct me if I'm wrong) they still hold a significant amount of testosterone to biological woman which would lead to a unfair advantage (especially in fighting) in sports. This is why they have separate categories for men and women and also why a transgered woman was kicked out of the womans category in the Olympics when discovered. The solution isn't as simple as you like to think.
you know you still have to provide evidence even if you say "don't quote me on this" right?
I said "Don't quote me on this" because I was heading off to work and didn't bother to find the specific links, and because it's pretty much a given fact that the difference is there. But fine. Here you go. A case of it happening, and even 'natural', at that.

Also, what's with the writer saying that the transgendered person is "assaulting your precious little daughter"? He makes it sound like the girl can't fight back, which whoa, in the MMA they can
Better to just let them fight, a whole "transgender league" would generate loads of butthurt from insecure white christian Americans (aka mma's audience) and wouldn't get viewed
Fastest growing sport in the world, and prior to the UFC the biggest shows were organized and held in Japan, and you pigeonhole its audience as white christian americans (why dont you just say what you really want to say here) ??? Please shut the fuck up. (User was banned for this post ("Flaming. Again." - Megafan))
i think majority of them are, from sherdog to underground mma, they're cool with transgender fighting the problem is, we don't know how much advantage fallon fox has, and we just want to know ^clip that surprised many MMA'er that got the debate into motion http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2013/3/20/4128658/dr-ramona-krutzik-endocrinologist-discusses-possible-advantages-fallon-fox-has doctor's opinion

In this particular instance, Fox might potentially have an unfair advantage over the females she faces, because she developed all the way into adulthood as a male. There would be increased musculature, and an increased ability to build muscle, so an advantage might be present due to years of conditioning and becoming more masculine, which includes differences in endurance and strength. The male body develops differently, both in skeletal structure and muscularly." Pretty much.
