the live coachella broadcast was pretty epic but this tupac hologram kept slipping and sliding everywhere lolol
Sickest fucking thing.
i'd imagine it'd be kinda sad rapping next to a hologram of one of your old pals (who died)
I can imagine the fucking atmosphere at Coachella was like beyond belief. I am so going next year.
I'd climb on stage to actually try and touch him.
Damn I wish I had the money to go to Coachella, they have really cool artists in the Line-Up
Holy shit thats a great hologram. Things like this are absolutely amazing
Holy shit. Aside from the fact that the hologram is slightly brighter than everything else - holy shit. Had the title not mentioned a hologram, I would've thought it was a real man standing on the scene. Kicking rad. [editline]16th April 2012[/editline] Oh, and he's slightly sliding around on the floor. :v:
That's pretty cool!
i'd imagine it'd be kinda sad rapping next to a hologram of one of your old pals (who died)
True, but it'll be the closest you'll ever get to seeing him alive again, I think it would make me happy.

Anyone know how this tech works? I'm really fascinated.
Anyone know how this tech works? I'm really fascinated.
It might be a really tricky light effect. Or a 3D monitor.
Shit, I was hoping for an Onion article.
It might be a really tricky light effect. Or a 3D monitor.
Honestly I'm fairly certain it's some kind of window. A projection is cast onto it and it looks real. Or there could be smoke all over the stage, though that might not bring the solid image that this video shows. But since he does slide a bit, something thats making his image is moving.
Looking up the technology, it's a thin film stretched over the stage.
The system works by placing thin metalized film across the front of the stage at angle of 45 degrees towards the audience; recessed below the screen is a bright image supplied by an LED screen or powerful projector. When viewed from the audience's perspective, the reflected images appear to be on the stage.
So yeah it's not a hologram per se it's just an image suspended in mid-air. Cool as heck though.
when were holograms invented and why didn't anyone tell me???
Somebody get me a holographic stripper NOW
Somebody get me a holographic stripper NOW
what i believe obtaining a real one would be far cheaper and easier
Hm, true. Ah well.
what i believe obtaining a real one would be far cheaper and easier
Not over time! Those one dollar bills add up.
what i believe obtaining a real one would be far cheaper and easier
While the initial investment may be high, long term use would kinda make itself pay off :v:
but you can turn it on and off ...obviously correlating with you

I'm not much of a rap fan, but snoop is really fun to watch live in concert. I'll probably go to Coachella next year, hoping they do something like this again.
