Fuck me that Chili looked awful. Thank you Ashens.
The can hissing like that when punctured is not a good sign. Shows there is a buildup of gas caused by bacteria, likely from c. botulinum, a producer of botulinum toxin a neurotoxic protein. Ashen shouldn't even be touching the chili with his tongue.

From the ingredients list that chili might've actually been fairly decent had this been 1985.
Holy fuck I could smell that through my screen. We don't deserve Ashens' constant sacrifices.

Honestly the lager was probably safe to drink despite tasting like rot. The chilli on the other hand is most likely botulism central.

C. botulinum even though extremely deadly, dies at a fairly low temperature and the toxin is neutralized with it so he could've just heated it before tasting. The reason people die from botulinum poisoning is because they eat things that are good to go out of the can like peaches.
As someone in the comments pointed out, the chili is more likely to be around 25 years old. Allison didn't start using the number styling seen on his hat until the early 90's, meaning the chili couldn't be from earlier than 1992. I don't know enough about Davey Allison to say if that's accurate or not, though. [Editline]boogity boogity boogity let's go racing boys [/editline] From Reddit:
I was thinking the same thing. He ran the gold numbers from 1987-1990 and only ran the number on the can from 1991-1993. Also his firesuit on the can isn't really in full view but what it does show matches the firesuit he wore with his '91-'93 paint scheme, so I wouldn't believe it if anyone says those numbers were created for the can. So, unless Bunker Hill sold six-year-old chili, the earliest it could've been made is 1991.
I love the way Ashens says rot. It's makes me happy inside
