• RUMOR - Mass Effect Trilogy not hitting Wii U because EA doesn't think Mass Effect 3 will sell
This information comes from ShockingAlberto, a NeoGAF member who's been known to get some inside info from time to time. I threw some questions out in the ether and the response to the whole ME3/METri thing appears to be "EA did not expect Wii U owners to buy Mass Effect, anyway, so no point in porting over three games. If ME3 sells gangbusters, they'll consider it a proper summer home for Mass Effect." I could definitely see this as being true. EA having little faith in Nintendo fans. Don't they get that their lack of support and trust is what gets them in the end? They're shooting themselves in the foot. Now when ME3 doesn't sell on Wii U, they'll think that they were right all along, never to realize that people didn't buy because of the lack of the trilogy compilation in the first place. Thanks to Dim for the heads up! They should widen their audience for their game by adding a bowling alley to the Normandy.
And this is why investors should not be allowed control over a gaming company.
Maybe it won't sell well because it's the third game in the series and owners of the Wii-U won't own the last 2.
Let's sell a story based game on the last of the trilogy and people who own this platform can only buy the last one!
Well it wont sell well.. why are people getting so mad about this likely truth? If this was Valve people would be going "Smart decision".
MArketing sure found a nice bag of crack this time.

I hate it when people get incomplete series. Like Fable 1 and 3 are available on PC, but not 2. And Assassin's Creed 2 is available on Mac, but not the first, Brotherhood, or Revelations. Do people really expect an odd part of a series heavily revolving around continuation of story to sell on its own?

Quite a few people don't give a rat's ass about the story, especially if the gameplay or visuals are not impressive (hence why I've met a lot of people that gave up on Mass Effect 1 within the first hour).
"There's no core games on the WiiU, no reason for core gamers to play it. There's no core gamers on the WiiU, no reason to make core games for it."
It's like EA is trying to piss us off.
I keep on telling my dumbass friend to sell his preorder and make some dosh. He was pretty intent to play ME3 on it, even tho he never played the past two.
Games take time to port. The platforms getting re-releases already have the games, so there's little work involved.
And this is why investors should not be allowed control over a gaming company.
this is why private>public for game companies at least from the consumers viewpoint [editline]27th September 2012[/editline]
"There's no core games on the WiiU, no reason for core gamers to play it. well.. I can tell you exactly why WIIU is going to fail. I was going to break my normal cheapness and get one with ME3, but then I found out they did regionalization with it, that is, if you buy a super cool game while on a business trip to another country, it may not work with your console, unless you buy another. Hmm... non-global hardware... how archaic.

Why don't they just release the trilogy as an all-in-one type of thing for the WiiU?

The third is atrocious though.
