"That's our Syrian refugee problem." He added: "This image says it all. Let's end the politically correct agenda that doesn't put America first. The food analogy has been used before to imply that, if a few people in a group are bad, it would be dangerous to take a single one in. [...] But following the tweet by the Republican presidential candidate's son, the company that owns Skittles, Wrigley, stepped in. "Skittles are candy. Refugees are people," said Denise Young, vice-president of corporate affairs for Wrigley America. "We don't feel it is an appropriate analogy," she added. "We will respectfully refrain from further commentary as anything we say could be misinterpreted as marketing."
Source: http://www.bbc.com/news/election-us-2016-37416457?
I have a bowl of skittles. there are two skittles left. you have to elect one of them as president
I have a bowl of skittles. there are two skittles left. you have to elect one of them as president
Eat them both and hope someone brings another packet.
bowl of skittles
I have a bowl of skittles. there are two skittles left. you have to elect one of them as president
One is a skittle, the other is a piece of smegma colored orange
A wonderful analogy if the skittles were alive, in need of help and instead of eating we were trying to save them.
I would take a handful and carefully analyze the skittles to determine which ones are the poisonous ones and then eat the rest. :]
sounds familar to this that popped up a year ago or so [t]https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/05/c3/b2/05c3b21fcdd075d709f23f3c292b3d09.jpg[/t] same logic here. horseshoe theroy keeps the world goin round
One is a skittle, the other is a piece of smegma colored orange
I think a more apt analogy would be that neither are skittles, but rather two thumbtacks at the bottom of the bowl.

Well at least they are not invading your country so don't complain.
Why skittles? Why?
And even then the idea doesn't make any sense. Half the attacks on US soil, and all in the past couple years, have been committed by people born in America.
Why skittles? Why?
Coz its dehumanises them.
And even then the idea doesn't make any sense. Half the attacks on US soil, and all in the past couple years, have been committed by people born in America.
then clearly the answer is not to trust anybody who's an American
we should just carefully check each baby born to make sure theyre not terrorists
we should just carefully check each baby porn to make sure theyre not terrorists
This is the best typo oh god

Also, where was this during the age of the mafiosos? You know, the crime syndicates that nearly killed more people in America than Islamic terrorism? [editline]20th September 2016[/editline] Where's our control on Sicilians? The Irish? Hell, in Rockford it was the fucking Swedes!
Just I, um, what?! How can you even make this comparison! It's literally nonsensical and shows a complete lack of regard for humanity and human life. This dehumanising of the refugees and people needs to stop, as it's only going to lead to terrible consequences in the years to come.
This is the best typo oh god
I can't even use my phone as an excuse cause of flagdog

Don't let the skittles into the UK, let the nazis put the skittles on a train to poland. Sadly people actually had that stance. Maybe being a bag of dicks is the default human state. Send the skittles home to fight for their country against Assad/IS/Russia/Rebels

There were race related riots, Irish people were looked down as harshly as black people, signs advertising jobs said "No Irish Need Apply", etc. Trump really should go back to the 1850s, there this quote would make sense: "When Ireland sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're Catholics, they're rebels, and some, I assume, are good people." EDIT: just feck up me merge will ya?

son of Trump shared a meme, better make a news story about it
There wouldn't have been a problem if the Irish just assimilated. You know they all abuse their wives.
How dare you? I'll have you know I've never beat my wife. Only my many, many children.

This dehumanising of the refugees and people needs to stop, as it's only going to lead to terrible consequences in the years to come.
It's nothing more than an oversimplification of an actual problem when you're talking about syrian refugees and the very small number of extremists that can be hidden within the actual refugees. It's just a way to frame it so that simpler minds can understand, which is the majority of Trump supporters. Calm your tits.
son of Trump shared a meme, better make a news story about it
son of trump reduces human beings to bowl of skittles to suggest we not provide humanitarian aid to a massive group of real people out of fear of an admittedly minimal number of pieces (that very well might not even be present in said handful) the only reason the skittles are even theoretically poisoned is that the people they represent are so fucking marginalized by those in power that they're lashing out at those who clearly don't care for them and their plight, which is already applicable to chunks of american (and many other) societies tl;dr this is the attitude that poisoned the skittles in the first place
