Like, I want to look classy while smoking, so if I got a nice tobacco pipe would I run into any obstacles while smoking ganja?
I mean, the bowl's a lot narrower and deeper, right? Any problems?

One of the common problems is that I heard the mesh on the inside gets gunked up easily using weed.
The choke option is no longer an option.

You'd have to clean out the pipe a lot more often than tobacco, and like cat said, it's harsh as fuck and you get more of the bad shit that is normally filtered out my bong water or whatever.

Since the stem tends to be a lot narrower on the inside for tobacco pipes, I imagine it would get gunked up very easily and would be a bitch to clean. Picture of a similar pipe so we can have a better idea?
Oh and since the bowl is narrow and deep you'd likely have to suck a lot harder to burn the weed at the very bottom and in doing so would most likely suck some ash through and possibly into your mouth (blech).
Those are very, very easy to clog up. The most effective way to clean completely clogged pipes is to run some isopropyl alcohol through it, but this is not advised for a wooden pipe such as that because if you leave it in too long, the wood will absorb the alcohol and possibly make the pipe a fire hazard.
If you have a headshop in your town, go there and get a pipe designed for weed but made to look like a tobacco pipe.
You can get a classy glass sherlock for smokin bud, less harsh than a tobacco pipe.

Try clay pipes, they have a much wider inside than briar and the bowls are usually smaller, with very long stems. Anyway, if you're going to smoke a pipe, be a man and smoke some manbacco.
It works fine, but marijuana pipes work better

Spoons are cheap, easy to use and easy to clean.
A tobacco pipe is so damn harsh. Once when I was smoking with one. The bowl on it got so hot that the plastic shit or whatever that gives it a wooden look started to bubble. I don't recommend it honestly.

If you want something amazing to smoke out of, get a hookah. I got this and it's the smoothest hit I've ever experienced. I usually pass out from being too high, because I don't know if I'm getting a good hit or not. That's how awesome it is.

This is what I have.
Tabacco pipes are great if you don't get a cheap ass one. You need to get a good one with a wooden bowl. Smoking weed with it however would be a problem, you could give it a try but it'll be difficult.
Generally when smoking a tobacco pipe you have to pack the tobacco into the bowl so it's firm yet still springy, then light the top most tobacco, let it ash, then relight so that it burns down evenly.
Because of that I'm thinking the pipe's going to get gunked up fairly easily with weed.

Yes, smoking weed from a tobacco pipe works fine I do it all the time. It looks hilarious having a classy tobacco pipe.
yeah. also I checked the stem and most of it is a removable metal pipe and the rest is plastic so as far as i can tell cleaning won't be a problem. i'll be sure to pick up a glass bowl too though. for when i don't need to maintain my image.

Why wouldn't it work? I used to smoke out of a pen, a marker, or what ever things that could be used as a pipe. All you need is a tube and a 'bowl' (and weed), you know, smoke just need to go into your lungs, nothing more, isn't it incredible? :O
