Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Florida, has proposed an amendment to the government spending legislation that would end funding to the special counsel investigating potential collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government during the 2016 U.S. presidential election. If Congress passes the amendment, it would stop funding for former FBI director Robert Mueller's investigation after 180 days.
Source nothing to hide here folks :tinfoil:
They definitely demonstrated this concern when they insisted on investigating Benghazi repeatedly despite each time coming up holding Hillary blameless. This is fine. :downs:
Traitorous cur.
cant he be charged with obstructing justice :why:
This should be considered treason, of all things if it actually comes up with something massively serious, everyone who tried to stops it needs to be investigated immediately
This this should be considered treason, of all things if it actually comes up with something massively serious, everyone who tried to stops it needs to be investigated immediately
As soon as a Democrat is elected into office, Republicans will all of a sudden magically care about keeping up appearances of patriotism again.
At the end of that 6 month period, the amendment would also prevent the special counsel from looking into "matters occurring before June 2015"-- a crucial time period for the special counsel to investigate, as President Trump formally declared his candidacy in a speech from Trump Tower on June 16, 2015.
 It's incredible how brazen some of these people can be in their political hijinx. Luckily I doubt this will pass in committee but the balls on this guy.
With how oddly specific that wording is, it sounds like some of Trump's GOP buddies are getting sweaty buttholes over this investigation and are starting to get more and more desperate. I have a feeling that pulling this weed will reveal a lot of roots.

I would not be surprised to see them focusing on self-preservation.
Because standing by doing nothing wasn't bad enough.
i feel like the reason 90% of political news revolves around the senate is because lower congress is just full of lunatics
Every time I see news implicate Trump in bad thing over many months, I have also visited The_Donald to see their reaction. Over time, their response has been from saying it is not correct and anger, to saying the left has done so too or is mis-interpreting trump, to saying the left is worse, to at end, this. I hope Mueller finish up quickly before his boat sink.
Their desperation is just accelerating the investigation at this point
It wouldn't surprise me if every single member of the GOP had a hand in the collusion.
If they set up a gofund me, I'd be happy to donate
keneth starr ran for what? 6 years? ya fuckoff, mueller is not some partisan hack, this is serious and its fucking disgusting that the republicans are suddenly so perfectly fine with russia as long as it works out for them.
It wouldn't surprise me if every single member of the GOP had a hand in the collusion.
if that were true and every one of them was convicted, jail time and all (I doubt it, it's so insanely silly and just seems way unrealistic) Would there have ever been a bigger shitcanning of politicians in US history?
Charge that GOP lawmaker with obstruction of justice.
Ron DeSantis, R-Florida
Floridians, keep this fuckstick in mind.
every time i see a screencap from there they seem less and less stable
I'm waiting for the day they go full nutso and start praising Russia. It'd be just like in Mass Effect 2 "We worship Trump, and Trump was working for Russia, therefore, ALL HAIL RUSSIA! GLORY BE TO PUTIN!"

what are the chances of this actually passing?
Charge that GOP lawmaker with obstruction of justice.
What obstruction of justice?
What obstruction of justice?
Trying to end a grand jury investigation before it can do due diligence and finish its investigation properly. Ken Starr took six years. Why is Trump-Russia suddenly supposed to wrap up in six months and Mueller's not going to be allowed to probe anything prior to Trump's announcement of candidacy? It's like firing Mueller only less direct. For fuck's sakes, when a blowjob can provoke years of grand jury investigation but the Republican party wants to desperately end Mueller's investigation after Trump hinted that he wants to stop or fire Mueller and the investigation only went to an independent prosecutor because Trump fired the Director of the FBI to ice efforts to investigate him, if you have to ask "what obstruction of justice" I really have to question either your loyalty to your nation or your critical thinking skills. There's something rotten here and the Republican Party is starting to get antsy about Mueller finding it.

They can choose if they want to continue to pursue it or not. If it's like the FBI's investigation with just a special investigator, then I would agree. But if it's for like a senate committee or something, then I don't see the problem.

According to your logic, it's his choice, so you can't complain! [editline]ninja assholes[/editline] At this point you've shown you care nothing for justice and it's frankly absurd.

When a Republican member of Congress wants to end the investigation prematurely and explicitly tie Mueller's hands in investigating the President, we're supposed to feel this isn't obstruction of justice? And this after Republicans insisted on re-investigating Benghazi over and over because they weren't happy with outcomes that didn't find Secretary of State Hillary Clinton culpable, don't make me laugh. Wake up and smell the potato vodka, Russian influence is here and Republicans are acting really suspicious in being desperately uninterested in finding out the truth.
