Not entirely surprising. He was in a militant group for a while (can't remember the name), I think he even held part of his college hostage at one point. He stopped after the FBI got on his case, iirc.

I wouldn't say its 'important' but it is something we need to know about. On the other hand it is out of control and being blown up on things like Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook because teenage girls have nothing better to do than bitch about things they really don't understand.
