The first real sign of trouble came last summer, when Republican officials were putting together the party platform at their national convention in Cleveland. As regular readers know, when Republican officials were putting together the party platform, Donald Trump and his campaign team were completely indifferent towards the document and the process – with one notable exception. The only thing Team Trump quietly pushed was a subtle change to make the Republican platform more in line with Russia’s foreign policy preferences. One GOP congressman was quoted saying soon after that the “most under-covered story” of the Republican convention” was Team Trump’s efforts to change the party platform to be more pro-Putin. About a month later, ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos asked the then-candidate about this. “I wasn’t involved in that,” Trump said. “Honestly, I was not involved.” Told that members of his team were responsible for pushing the platform in a direction Russia wanted, Trump added, “Yeah. I was not involved in that.” ... What’s more, let’s also not forget that the now-infamous dossier about Trump and Russia, which remains unverified, specifically alleges not only that the Trump campaign was aware of the Russian hacks, but the change in the Republican platform was part of a quid-pro-quo between Team Trump and Moscow. And while there are plenty of important questions about the validity of that dossier, key pieces of the document now appear to be accurate.
And while there are plenty of important questions about the validity of that dossier, key pieces of the document now appear to be accurate.
I always going to hate presentation of accusations in such matter.
Very little doubt remains in my mind that either Trump's team or Trump and his team are guilty of treason. The only question is to what degree. As for Trump himself? I don't think the man is intelligent or mentally sound enough to understand he has committed the crime, even if he has. His apparent belief in his exemption from every normal measure of authority, including the law, has been evident in his business dealings in the past, and is very, very clear in his presidency. He sees the checks and balances that attempt to stop his insane executive orders like the Immigration ban as personal insults, a conspiracy against him by his enemies. This is America's president. How the hell did we come to this? [editline]9th March 2017[/editline]
I always going to hate presentation of accusations in such matter.
I think that the Intel agencies revealing that the non-incriminating parts of the dossier had been verified was their way of warning Trump to fall in line and work with them rather than against them. When, being the buffoon that he is, he completely failed to get the message, they resolved to continue to release the truth to the public and damage him further. Assuming that I'm right, and I'm not saying I'm a hundred percent certain, because I have no proof that I am, but assuming that I am right, consider what this implies about a lot of the rest of the dossier. The pile of circumstantial evidence at this point directing the public at the conclusion that Trump is guilty is simply mountainous - too great for even the Republicans in congress to ignore any further. All that is lacking is conclusive evidence to make a legally airtight case. If Trump is guilty, the intel agencies already know, and they already hold that evidence. But they're playing with their food now, leaking information piece by piece to erode his support - and his mental stability. Why? Because whether or not Trump is proven to be guilty, it is up to Congress to decide whether to impeach him. There is the very real possibility that Republicans will refuse to impeach him for political reasons. So the CIA and FBI are taking their time, dismantling the administration's support one piece at a time, catching them in lie after lie after lie. When the public has finally had enough and it would be political suicide to protect him, then they will reveal all. And he's going to go down hard.
I always going to hate presentation of accusations in such matter.
yeah better follow your idea of good presentation
I always going to hate presentation of accusations in such matter.
What would compel you to use that as the quote header
There's really nothing new in this article. It's just citing other journalists who are quoting more anonymous sources about vague statements, and then making vague accusations based on those vague statements. As a side note, Maddow is a joke. She's the Hannity of MSNBC. Her video is an entire segment on the dossier that she fully admits is "sketchy." Why the hell are you covering it if it's "sketchy?" She tries to pretend that there's real evidence, but none of the evidence has anything to do with the accusations.
12:07 from that MI6 dossier is pretty telling.
[...] the Russian Regime had been behind the recent leak of embarrassing email messages, emanating from the DNC, to the WikiLeaks platform. The reason for using WikiLeaks was "plausible deniability" and the operation had been conducted with the full knowledge and support of Trump and senior members of his campaign team. In return, the Trump team had agreed to sideline Russian intervention in Ukraine as a campaign issue.
And Christopher Steele (Said MI6 member who revealed this dossier) has had a credible history with support from the FBI, CIA and his colleagues at MI6.
Will anyone even care if everything gets exposed The bar has been set so fucking low at this point
Warning: Ancedote. Some of the people I've seen that support Trump do it purely out of party loyalty and patriotism. Hopefully that patriotism can be put into question by revealing these facts that Russia has manipulated both parties (To quell any "but it wuz a democrat ploy" excuses). If people really do support the idea of American integrity they'll throw Trump and/or members of his party under the bus for subverting American democracy. It'll be one of the few times I'd be proud to be an American if that happens.
Will anyone even care if everything gets exposed The bar has been set so fucking low at this point
I assume it might help to actually have a tiny amount of real evidence.
