https://vimeo.com/226379658 Didn't know he was such a great painter and it's a very inspirational video.
wow, he's quite a talented artist. did not expect this
shame about him being an absolute cunt of a person to that woman who committed suicide.
When your heart is in love, you're floating weightless. But when you lose that love... you have to re-enter the atmosphere. And that can get pretty rough. You're just bouncing off one molecule and on to the next... ripping through them at such a pace that they just ignite and explode. Until you find another heart thats finding the same thing... has landed and cooled... and then you start to float again.
...dude.
shame about him being an absolute cunt of a person to that woman who committed suicide.
what?
what?
Jim Carrey was dating a woman some 30 years younger than him, she had an extreme case of self-loathing and ended up killing herself over her obliterated self-esteem plus the fact she had contracted several different STDs. The latter part was the centerpiece of a lawsuit started by the woman's ex-husband who claimed Jim Carrey had infected her with a bunch of diseases, repeatedly tried to convince her not to take any tests and keep quiet about the whole thing, and eventually dumped her when she took one anyway. Allegedly he wanted her to sign some legal papers related to that as well soon before or after breaking up with her. Also related to Jim Carrey saying/doing weird shit, he is or at least was an anti-vaxxer and refused to promote an action film he was in after an unrelated school shooting, suddenly claiming that violent films create school shooters.
and refused to promote an action film he was in after an unrelated school shooting, suddenly claiming that violent films create school shooters.
That was Kickass 2 for anyone wondering.

This is a side of him I did not think I'd ever imagine
That was Kickass 2 for anyone wondering.
He might have been using it as a convenient excuse to avoid promoting such a terrible movie.

Sci's are kinda dicks to anyone who wrongs them and are (ironically in this case) the types to harass constantly and tell you to kill yourself if they really want to make a point I saw him show up on jimmy kimmel recently, with a full "homeless jesus" style beard, and a look in his eyes I could describe the same. Not 'ha ha' jim carrey crazy, just... off. Not sure what to make of it but it just wasn't jim carrey up there anymore
After reading the above posts idk wat to think of Jimmy anymore
After reading the above posts idk wat to think of Jimmy anymore
Yeah here's a thing that i hate about this forum. Someone says something that is very very irrelevant to the said person and everyone changes their opinions instantly because of the discomfort of being outed. This always happens and it is just disheartening to see my favorite childhood actor getting bashed because of the mistakes he did in the past. Why cant we just express our own thoughts instead of relying on other people?

I think hes a bit weird but hes a great actor and he seems like a good guy, even if he might've been an asshole before or be anti-vax. I still like him. We have all done wrongs before and will continue doing so and we all have unpopular opinions and view points
''but fp isnt a hivemind'' etc etc even though it kinda is at times
Not in a political sense, but it sure as hell turns into one in these situations.

I find it justified, by today's society it's easier to join the mass than to make your own thoughts, not everybody has the time or fun to write things they have to explain. ratings do this for them, watch post ratings help you check how dumb and easy the social mass is, as long as you understand the userbase you're on. the thing to do is not take it hard at all and enjoy the discussion
I think Jim Carrey is ok.
I don't see how liking someone less after finding out bad things about them makes this a hivemind.
After reading the above posts idk wat to think of Jimmy anymore
It sounds like a bunch of bullshit tbh. The STD shit hasn't been proven, and he was literally a pallbearer at the girlfriends funeral so it's not like she killed herself and he immediately moved on. The way he treated her after breaking up, although terrible, is not uncommon in breakups, and Carrey himself has dealt with depression in the past so I'd imagine that resurfaced after the breakup, leading to the hostility.

I have always enjoyed Jim Carrey and all his movies but the respect I had for him ended the moment I learnt about his anti-vaccination views and how he got around to promoting them. I have not watched his movies since and I hopefully won't. It is sort of showing my displeasure with my wallet because in the end what else do I have. And so I would have been glad if his views had been told to me years ago. I get your point about saying "very very irrelevant" to the said person but when those comments are also "very very irrelevant" to the profession of the person (why as an actor do you have to go public with your opinions on vaccination) I kinda feel it is justified.

Would you prefer that everybody just ignore everything that night be unpleasant about a person becaus you liked them when you were a kid? Jim Carrey's actions aren't that relevant to his artistic product but it's ridiculous to say they're irrelevant to him as a person.

I mean, its important to point out the fact he's a anti-vaxxer, but i don't think he's an asshole of a person because of it. Sometimes on this forum, if something like that came out about a person, everyone completely starts shitting on them immediately. Not saying you can't shit on someone with shitty opinions, but FP tends to be a bit kneejerkish.
Lots of people on FP and everywhere else hold the frankly stupid idea that celebrities cannot be subject to personal faults and hold them to unfeasible standards of virtue (preferably their own, which of course clash with everyone else's).

That has everything to do with some people having different values than you and considering certain things far more negative than you do.
He's really, really good. I want one.
Fun fact: that big painting he was working on was given to Maharishi University of Management. You can see him unveil it in his commencement address around 15:00.

I think the most frustrating thing about these situations is its always someone posting something nice about an actor/celebrity/whatever and then one person just absolutely needs to say how they did something not so nice once and kill the mood for everyone. All it does is derail the discussion and get everyone talking about that instead of the actual video.
