The senior class president at a Wichita high school is suspended for suggesting that his school isn't all that at sports. Just that. No cursing. No incitement to violence.
Source
"Fuck you because"
FOOTBALL.
I'm sorry, but is this even possible?
"H-he insulted our shitty sports team! s-suspend him! "
Surely this is not allowed, right? I mean honestly how can this even be allowed?
The fuck is going on with schools lately?
"Indeed, it suspended 18-year-old Teague for the remainder of his time there." The fuck? Is he getting suspended for the next month or so because of this?
This just highlights the ridiculous amount of importance most schools put on sports. IMO sports should have no place in schools other than to serve as exercise.
The fuck is going on with schools lately?
People talking about them
"Indeed, it suspended 18-year-old Teague for the remainder of his time there." The fuck? Anybody actually read the source?
A school spokeswoman told the Eagle: "There was a negative reaction from many students, including threats of fights in the school. It caused a major disruption to the school day. Other students were also suspended." Teague's mother says she received a letter from the school that cited her son's incitement of "the majority of our Heights athletes."
This can not possibly be a valid reason to suspend him, right? A completely innocent joke about the school's football team "incites the majority of athletes" so they suspend him? Maybe those athletes should grow some fucking skin and learn to take a joke. [editline]9th May 2013[/editline]
Anybody actually read the source?
I did and that makes it even more bullshit. If you can't take a joke, be a hermit. People are going to make jokes at your expense, learn to live with it especially if they're as innocent as this.
Bunch of idiots who blow up over a simple joke.
This just highlights the ridiculous amount of importance most schools put on sports. They receive literally $0 in funding and have to pay for the rights to their plays and the materials to build it entirely out of pocket and/or fundraising, with the ticket sales barely being enough to buy the rights to the next play. Meanwhile, the football team gets funding for just about anything they want. Why? Because sports.
Anybody actually read the source?
Are you trying to say what the school did was ok just because other people can't take a hit?
This just highlights the ridiculous amount of importance most schools put on sports. IMO sports should have no place in schools other than to serve as exercise.
holy fuck go outside more please, football can become a very high-paying career if you excel in it and are a very promising, skilled player. it isnt all just running around and throwing yourself at the other guy for funsiez.
Anybody actually read the source?
Mmm, nnnooo, still not seeing how this makes it any less bullshit. He can say what he damn well pleases, it's his goddamn right (Freedom of speech) - If other people don't like it, they can suck it up. It's not like during school hours he ran up to the team whilst it was practicing and started calling them losers. He simply stated that the School isn't great at sports.
My school isn't really like this (Sports centered), I think we have a Male and Female soccer team, maybe a hockey team and that's pretty much it. I assume it's an american thing?
that is the most retarded thing I have read all fucking day what the ever loving christ nippledicks fuck
Anybody actually read the source?
So what they're saying is if I make a post on twitter saying I'm not too keen on the job Obama is doing and people start rioting, that it's my fault? Brilliant.
holy fuck go outside more please, football can become a very high-paying career if you excel in it and are a very promising, skilled player. it isnt all just running around and throwing yourself at the other guy for funsiez.
And being a nerd and geek programming something on the computer can lead to being the CEO of a multibillion dollar company. And they get bullied all the time while no one cares.
The fuck is going on with schools lately?
Nothing, they're all like that and have been like that. It's just easier to get the word out about it now
It's really sad, but a lot of schools DO in fact value sports over academics
Anybody actually read the source?
Yep, the fact that that is actually their explanation just makes it worse.
holy fuck go outside more please, football can become a very high-paying career if you excel in it and are a very promising, skilled player. it isnt all just running around and throwing yourself at the other guy for funsiez.
Sports have nothing to do with academics, which I thought school was for.
sports teams net schools money
Hey, My state is AGAIN in the news. But how come its always bad news ):
This just highlights the ridiculous amount of importance most schools put on sports. More people looked forward to halftime than they did the game.
Sports have nothing to do with academics, which I thought school was for.
I figure schools might gain huge rep and maybe even become more valuable if they can say one of their kids goes on to be a professional athlete. It's one thing to say "yeah we have students that went on to yale" but another to say "dude our sports are awesome you dads love sports right we've had kids go on to play for [your team here] jesus dicks your kid could be an all-star"
