• Ambien: A good starter hallucinagin.

I posted in the thread "Experiences of first times taking a particular drug." about my first time with a high dose of Ambien. I then realized there is no thread that I could see that is dedicated to Ambien. I want to say that although I have never tried any other a hallucinogen, and I'm not sure if I ever will, or even will get the chance (I have two separate jobs that drug test). I will say, however, that Ambien is a great "starter" hallucinogen in the sense that you are unlikely to get any paranoia from it and it is relatively safe (not saying that other one's aren't). One thing to note, though. When you take it, you have to force yourself to stay awake, without taking any stimulants. Also, I recommend doing it on an empty stomach, or at least when you're "not hungry" as I have noticed that food not only makes it take significantly longer to kick in, it also dampens the hallucinatory effects. Now the hallucinations Ambien gives you are not like the cliched "holy shit there are snakes everywhere" or "I keep hearing voices" but more like, "shit is melting and everything is fuzzy" and although you don't hear things, you may feel as if you have a telepathic connection with objects. You might start seeing some things that aren't there, and other things will have a tendency to transform into something else. During one trip (20 mg), my keyboard started turning into a stone slab with vines growing all over it as I was typing on it. It was fucking awesome, but I kept getting annoyed because the vines were in the way of me typing. By the way, you can't type for shit once it hits full strength. Your fine motor skills are shit, which is part of the fun. Anyway, during that same trip, I was having a conversation with a pile of dirty laundry, and a sculpture on my wall, and something else. Forgot what the last item was. I knew that they weren't saying anything out loud; i.e. I wasn't hearing them speak through my ears. It did feel, however I was knew what they were saying, almost telepathically. I think it was both the laundry and sculpture that hated each other, and the third item I was begging for it to be the mediator. Ambien is a strange drug. It affects people in vastly different ways. Some people claim that it's impossible to hallucinate or trip with Ambien. They will swear up and down that anyone saying that they had an Ambien trip is lying. I will tell you that whoever thinks that are fucking ignorant morons. Just because it doesn't work for them does not mean it does not work for others. Anyway, here is the main part of my post from the thread, which will details the highest dose I will ever probably take. I don't remember jack shit from that night, other than some random fuzzy snapshots.
One Saturday night, I decided to take 30 mg's of this shit, just for the fuck of it. I was normally prescribed 10, and even with 10, I still tripped balls. I just wanted to see how much I could hallucinate on this shit. The highest I did before was 20, and that was enough to just get me floored. Unfortunately I cannot recall much of what happened that night since Ambien is also a highly powerful amnesic, even more-so at higher doses, but I was told I was staggering around the house, falling over everywhere, saying incomprehensible things, got up, only to stop and stare at something for about 10 minutes, then move on and repeat. This apparently went on for maybe an hour before I passed out on the floor, and my father dragged me to my bed. I'm surprised I lasted that long actually on 30 mg. He also told me that he kept telling me to "go to bed" but I'd just respond with nonsense or gave him a blank stare, and wander off and stumble around the house, so he eventually gave up and waited for me to pass out. My dad already knew that Ambien had those effects, and I told them I was going to try a higher dose because the 10 mg was not enough for me anymore. I told my dad the next day that I did actually take 30 mg on purpose just to see what it would do. I told them I did a lot of research to conclude that it was, in fact, a safe dose. Although he called me an idiot for doing it, he took it surprisingly well. This was actually a few weeks after I made the thread where I posted while tripping balls on Ambien. Unfortunately the thread has since been archived and I can't find it. That night I only took 15, and if anyone can recall, I was fucked up.
Later in the thread after someone mentioned that they thought it sounded pretty neat, I wanted to share them proper advice on it. I wrote in the thread as follows:
Start off with a 10mg dose to see how you feel, then move up in increments of 5mg. 15 should be plenty for a first timer, and 20 should be way more than enough. Just make sure you're in a safe environment, and with all hallucinogens, you have a spotter you can trust for at least your first time. By far the most dangerous part about the trip is your lack of coordination throughout it. Your motor skills are absolutely trashed. But like I mentioned before, that's part of the fun in it. Also, it kicks in faster when you're in low-light areas, at least for me. Once it kicks in, though, lights shouldn't change anything. The other thing is some people don't get hallucinations from it, so if 20 is not doing anything for you, especially for the first time, then there's no point in upping the dose. Apparently it also mixes well with weed (what doesn't, lol), but don't take it with alcohol since it severely increases the amnesic properties of it.
Unfortunately I have abused it so much that I don't hallucinate on it anymore. It now only puts me into a zombie-like stupor where I will mostly space out in a weird trance-like state with little coordination. It's very hard to explain. Before it did both: made me hallucinate, and it caused me to be zombified. I might try it again in a few months and see how it affects me. I just have to convince my shrink to prescribe me more.
:bravo: at the thread title :v:
I want to try this so bad but I don't have a script or know anybody with one.
Ambien is the shit. I get more hallucinations on it than I do on LSD or salvia.
I want to try this so bad but I don't have a script or know anybody with one.
Just tell your doctor that you're having a killer time getting to sleep for the last couple of weeks and you've tried other alternatives like benadryl and melatonin and they don't work. Say that your aunt takes it or something and she said it works really well for her. Be assertive, but don't keep pushing for it in a way that makes it sound like you want it to just abuse it. Your doc may put you on a couple different things before they put you on Ambien. Just play the game. you spelt hallucinogen wrong :v:
my friend took 20mg and smoked and had dumb hallucinations, but barely remembers it. i did the same, but ate a quite bit earlier so that probably ruined it. i remember sitting there, thinking, "fuck this sucks I'm not tripping at all". that's about all i remember. might correct my errors next time. but i'd much rather robotrip.
My grandpa was telling me about the time when he took ambien In the car and got stuck in traffic, so it kicked in right in the middle of the highway. "the speedometer numbers looked like popcorn!" What's the youngest age they'll prescribe it for?
THis thread needs ambien walrus
fuck he beat me to it

I hear it's kind of a crappy trip anyway. And then they get the robo-itch and feel even worse while all itchy. I also heard you will feel like absolute shit before feeling good on it, then you feel like shit again. I don't see the point in that. Plus at higher doses, that shit will fuck you up. I have heard some bad things about the 4th and 5th plateau. I'm not saying this is true for everyone, as again, everyone has different outcomes to drugs. I just don't think DXM is for me.

My favorite drug related walrus meme. I wouldn't mind trying this actually.
Holy fucking shit dick nipples! I actually took zoldipem tartrate (same shit as Ambien, I believe, but under another brand) once, and while it was supposed to make me sleep, all it did was make me see stars on the ceiling, while I closed my eyes, and some weird faces on the curtain. It was kinda neat. Not really hallucinogenic, 'cause I took I believe 6.25 mg. But I still have 3 tablets left (had 4 from my shrink as a test), that means 18.75 mg. Thanks, OP! I'm gonna try it someday, see how it goes.
The thought of Hallucinogens has always scared me in a way, I never liked the thought of not being able to control what I see, or knowing that things can turn from good to bad in an instant. This seems pretty chill though, might try it sometime. Thanks for letting me know about this!
Plus at higher doses, that shit will fuck you up. I have heard some bad things about the 4th and 5th plateau.
There's no 5th plateau, unless you're going to count death as a plateau.

Thanks for letting me know about this!
The great thing I've noticed is that you actually have a high amount of control over your hallucinations. The more experienced, the more control you have. In many cases, I've used this to spawn goofy things, or assign objects personalities and have conversations with them. The hallucinations aren't incredibly detailed visually, but in your mind they are fairly convicing. In other words, if you don't visually see something, you can just convince yourself something is there and you will belive that it is. You can also stare at something and it may not look any different, but the concept of what it is completely changes Going back to the wall sculpture and the laundry from that one trip; they never changed shape or appearence. The idea of them and what their capibilities, however, did. I knew they were pants, but it felt like they could do magnificant things besides make you not naked, lol. It is related to benzos in one way or another, so you shouldn't have a panick attack on it. Don't take benzos while on it though or drink. If you want to drink alcohol with it, you might as well take roofies because the effects and end results will probably be similar, i.e you will do really stupid shit and remember NOTHING. Weed is fine, but you will probably just pass out due to the synergenic sedative effects. Please forgive any speeling erors as I am typing this from my phone which does not have speel chek for the web browser.
This better be legal in the UK.
This better be legal in the UK.
Don't live in UK, but im pretty sure it is with a perscription. Just go to your doc saying you haven't been sleeping right for the last two weeks, tried relaxing techniques, benadryl, and melatonin, but they don't work that well. Don't straight out say "doc, I have insomnia" or it will seem like you just want a specific drug. If the doc asks if anything has changed recently in your life, just make up a story about how things are getting more stressful, i.e work, school, whatever, making it hard to sleep and the lack of sleep makes it worse (just be prepared to give them details, so come up with a sob story before you go to a doc). When asked how much sleep you get a night, you can either say "not sure...but it feels like im not getting any." or "I can't fall asleep until like 3 or 4 am, and then i have to get up at 7 for work/school...it's just killing me." You can then say something like, "I told my aunt about how I can't sleep, and she said she was given Ambien before and it worked really well for her." I have used all these methods and more in various combinations to extort the type of pharmacutical I want from my docs. I could make a thread about gaming your doc for ceirtain drugs.
You should do that.

Sounds interesting, I will have to try to get some sometime.
As we can see here you clearly know what you're talking about.
I never claimed to be an expert on DXM, or any drug for that matter. I am just repeating other people's experiences from what they have told me and what I have read about.
OP rated dumb for calling Ambien a hallucinogen
Every time I hear about someone robotripping, they regret it. I hear it's kind of a crappy trip anyway. I also cannot remember the last time I got robo-itch, or any time I felt nausea or physical discomfort from the DXM. Taking a small amount of DPH (50-100mg) with the DXM should prevent robo-itch. Maybe you should try a drug before you start hatin on it. I know plenty of people, both online and IRL, that enjoy DXM.

I love ambien walrus comics. I wish there were more of them.
