Can be soon achieved by running Assassin's Creed: Unity.
If he gave it enough power, could it hover in the air?

More like violently throw itself against a wall. Things that aren't made to hover typically don't.

Probably burn out given any more power than it is already
My fan is moving on its own, onii-chan!
haha epic reference bro
I wanna see him keep going up in voltage until it dies.
take on helicopters
All I can think of now is some kind of PC fan propelled mini plane.
Someone make it happen!
I was waiting for plastic exploding fan blades everywhere.
Every time I see this sort of video, they crank the power up super slow.
I wanna see one where a dude just goes "FUCK IT" and throws it to as high as possible.
Overvolt one of these.

72 decibels? That's nearing the threshold of damage to the human ear.
72 decibels? That's nearing the threshold of damage to the human ear.
no it isn't. it's not even remotely close
no it isn't. it's not even remotely close
Isn't the threshold like 80?
Isn't the threshold like 80?
it's about 85, which sounds close until you realize that decibels are a logarithmic unit, ie. a 10 decibel increase means the sound waves are 10 times more powerful
What is scary is that fan has more CFM than a decent amount of small turbochargers...

I wouldn't be surprised if you could use it as one.
(actually don't)
If he gave it enough power, could it hover in the air?
It was doing exactly that. Only reason it didn't go flying up towards hte cieling was because the power cables had it restrained to dancing around.

If the power cables weren't restraining it, it would just tip over and smack into the wall/floor.
