According to the Journal, citing emails and unnamed sources, Cambridge Analytica had sent employees to the Trump digital campaign headquarters and was in the process of finalising a contract with the campaign in early June of last year, apparently around the time Nix said he made the approach to Assange. It is not suggested that Cambridge Analytica made the approach at the Trump campaign’s request. The Guardian has contacted Cambridge Analytica for comment.

Representative Adam Schiff, the ranking Democrat on the House intelligence committee looking into possible Trump-Moscow collusion has said the committee had a “deep interest” in the relationship between Cambridge Analytica and WikiLeaks.

Robert Mercer, a Trump mega-donor, and his daughter, Rebekah, are major investors in Cambridge Analytica and Steve Bannon was a vice-president of the company before joining the Trump campaign and becoming the president’s chief strategist in the White House. Cambridge Analytica’s website promises to help clients gain advantage over political opponents with its data analysts of US voter behaviour. It claims to hold up to 5,000 pieces of data on more than 230 million voters, to build a “psychographic” profile of targeted voters. The company was hired to become part of the digital campaign, which was overseen by Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and was paid $5.9m, according to the Federal Election Commission.
https://www.theguardian.com/media/2017/nov/10/data-firm-that-worked-for-trump-asked-wikileaks-to-share-hacked-emails https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/the-guardian/ Cambridge Analytica, closely tied to Trump mega-donor Robert Mercer and the Trump white house's former chief strategist Steve Bannon, was hired by Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner. This company immediately reached out to Wikileaks to attempt to arrange the release of the "thousands of hacked emails" that George Papadopoulos was informed of just a few weeks prior. At around this same time, Carter Page, of Trump's national security team, was in Russia having private conversations with high-ranking officials of Putin's government. Everybody is denying everything, but the trail is becoming clear. The Trump campaign made every conceivable effort to cooperate with the Russian government to secure the release of compromising information about their political opponents. They aided and abetted an attack against our country, and worked with the attackers to secure their own political victories. This will go down as one of the greatest betrayals of our country in American history. Donald Trump's name will be remembered alongside the likes of Benedict Arnold.
This presidenture will go down as the biggest fraud in modern history. Trump won't last too long.
You forgot to link your source.
This shouldn't come as a surprise considering Hillary absolutely hated Assange and Assange has always had a soft spot on Putin I guess he had a """secret deal""" with the Trump campaign that if Trump's elected, he would get the FBI and CIA off Assange's back and allow him to live peacefully in the UK/Australia

The mercers are also the ones who are funding milo and breitbart. They recently pretended to pull out of the business (the dad sold his stake and his daughter bought it). It's exciting that breitbart might be threatened in the investigation too.
I remember a few months back peeps though I was a nut for being sceptical toward wikileaks wrt brexit and trump I don't wanna say I told you so but...
I think in some ways you in the US are lucky that you have non-partisan leadership in your intelligence agencies at the moment. For the most part. Because for the links in the UK between Cambridge Analytica, Brexit and Russia to be investigated, the Home Secretary would have to order an inquiry. And since she only has a job because of the referendum result, we aren't getting justice anytime soon. Here's hoping Mueller will not limit his investigation to US nationals.

I am not really disagreeing with you; I just find our inquiries to be a waste of time.
I feel like the Trump Campaign working with Wikileaks is no different than the Clinton Campaign working with Steele to research the dossier. Just typical of the dirty political arms race involved in any presidential campaign. If Trump is knowingly proven to have worked with Russia, however, especially when Russia has basically attacked the United States given the depth of its interference, that's much, much more serious. And I think that's a pretty safe bet, given all the Mueller investigation has uncovered.
I feel this is relevant So Wikileaks lied about not colluding with Trump (Jr)? :v:
