People need to cause more noise if they want to make sure that WSJ answers for its shitty journalism.
Ethan really assblasting the WSJ
What happened to news? Why are they all corrupt clickbaiters now?
What happened to news? Why are they all corrupt clickbaiters now?
I guess you haven't followed the news in the recent several decades then.
It's not just the WSJ, """"online journalism"""" itself is a joke. [editline]2nd April 2017[/editline] Writers often mistake reporting for blogging too.
What happened to news? Why are they all corrupt clickbaiters now?
Because they exist for profit and journalistic integrity as a whole is dead. It's hard to even differentiate between shitty tabloid papers and actual news organizations that used to have a reputation because they both exist for the same end goal now - money.
I guess you haven't followed the news in the recent several decades then.
I have, but this medium has been around for more than a decade. What I don't understand is how it happened. Was it overnight one day? Because it seems like that sometimes.
I have, but this medium has been around for more than a decade. What I don't understand is how it happened. Was it overnight one day? Because it seems like that sometimes.
been happening since forever
I'd love to hear what Edward R. Murrow might have to say in 2017 about the state of media. I 'd like to think he'd love the potential of the internet and youtube in particular.
fuck the WSJ.
Lie, cheat and steal til you get caught. Then blame it one someone else. Seems to be how the world operates these days. I really do like Ethan when he get serious or he's just being him.
That fuckin' proof. Can we get a hulkamania 2.0 feat. Google?

As was brought up on twitter shortly after, the reason there is no ad earnings after september was because they video got claimed by Omnia Media (Same MCN that just now got exploited). So just because the video had no earnings to the uploader, doesn't mean no ads ran. But it also doesn't mean... ads ran. Basically Omnia could have a normal ad claim setup, or it could block the video, or it could simply track it to get stats for it. https://twitter.com/nickmon1112/status/848669691660963840
Also guys, there is a puppetmaster involved. Basically this dude has patented technology that automatically finds ad-playing racist videos and is sending example images to media publications, with the intent of strongarming Youtube to license with him because they cannot create their own solution without infringing upon his patent. You can see how jealous traditional news are getting.
Good way to combat this is if more people got YT Red, since then Google wouldn't be so beholden to ad partners.
This whole situation is fucked.

someone pointed out to me that someone could have content claimed that video and put their own ads on it. this would put an ad on a video that reports no revenue
fucking hell
video unavailable as i was watching it, what the fuck PART 2 DOWN, CONSPIRACY [editline]3rd April 2017[/editline] part 1 is fine tohugh what the fuck

so ethan was completely wrong then?
so ethan was completely wrong then?
Not necessarily but it is possible that he could be wrong and I guess he doesn't want to get in trouble
If Ethan's going to go on the attack it's best he's solid on his facts. WSJ has the power, here.
It's better to pull it now, be wrong and leave it down than to be wrong and keep it up while rumours circulate.
Since h3h3 has a huge fanbase, couldn't WSJ go after them for defamation?
i imagine the WSJ doesn't care enough to waste lawyers here. though i imagine the guy who got harrassed due to the vids could use a private apology if it turns out ethan jumped the gun
