Video game developer Valve is confirming that it is currently working actively on Half-Life 3 via its internal User Picker tool, which it uses to track projects and manage the personnel involved with them.
The tool is not meant to be seen by the public, but in a rare blunder, the secretive company has made it accessible and fans of the series were able to see new entries for both Half-Life 3 and for Half-Life 3 Core, which might be the technology associated with the new title.
Apparently, there are 46 people at Valve currently working on the game itself and another 10 linked to the Core project, according to Gematsu.
The studio might have deliberately offered outsiders access to its internal tools to confirm Half-Life 3 work without making an official announcement.
Recently, an European trademark has also been filed for the title.
Valve is also working on its own OS and on hardware.

I'm not excited anymore :(
wasn't something like this leaked a while ago, and it turned out not to be reliable?
Wasn't this weeks ago?
Wasn't this weeks ago?
it happened again
somehow
neat
Wasn't this weeks ago?
"Half Life 3 Core" apparently wasn't on this list until the trademark was bought, I believe

You mean these things?

I thought Kelly Bailey didn't work at Valve anymore. Why's he on the list?
No hype till I see a trailers.
it happened again

Last time it was an internal mailing program, which had names of all sorts of random things including Ricochet 2 I think. This is a internal user management tool that's meant to say what each person is working on. I wouldn't hold my breath for it though.
I dunno, i won't be excited again until we have something substantial, like in-game screenshots or something.
I want to believe!
Yeah... Kelly Bailey hasn't worked at Valve for some time now.
Can't imagine why his name would be on that list.
Because he returned?
Maybe he's returned temporarily to do the music for the game?
His name isn't on the list of employees for Valve.

(Which they keep updated)
Just saying; because Kelly left with some other guy to go do their own thing afaik.
it's like a mailing list thing i think, he might still be interested in what they're doing with half-life,
he doesn't exactly have to work at valve to contribute to the soundtrack.
And on that very same day, Randy Pitchford saw his dreams come true
stahp it gabe
no
Yeah... Kelly Bailey hasn't worked at Valve for some time now.

From what I understand he left because he was tired of doing the same thing over and over again (i.e. 9 to 5); I imagine if Valve offered him a single project/game to do he would be more than up to it, but there is no point in 'shelving' himself just in case a new Valve game comes at some time.
From what I recall of his Portal/HL music it really wouldn't work with a game like DOTA etc either.
The guy who created the HL2 universe (basically dystopian east european grimy city) only worked on a project basis too and quit as soon as the game was done.
That could be one explanation. But then why have Mike Morasky at Valve then?
Morasky's style is quite different from the "theme" of Half-Life, so maybe they felt they had to get Bailey back to get it right.
I thought Kelly Bailey didn't work at Valve anymore. Why's he on the list?
I can see Valve contracting him for some of the OST for HL3.
He pretty much set the mood for the Half-life series.
HL3 would never live up to expectations and hype anyways.
I don't understand this considering that we have no idea what is going to happen. Valve have said jack shit on the game even being made so how would anyone actually have any hype?
It's all going to be new stuff that we haven't even seen and a story in which we won't know the ending until it comes.
It's going to be awesome!
God I hope this list isn't fake or incorrect. Kelly Bailey's music is perfect for Half-Life.
What age we live in to see the possiblity of Half life 3.
I thought Kelly Bailey didn't work at Valve anymore. Why's he on the list?
Is he the guy who made the amazing soundtracks from hl1 to portal 1? Honestly portal 2's soundtrack was joke compared to his magic.

Yeah, 10 years later, I really don't care. I'll probably buy it if it's on a killer 75% off sale sometime down the line, but I'm not going to wait in line at midnight, as this game SHOULD have warranted.

You wouldn't need to wait in line anyway because its on Steam.
Waiting in lines is only something really necessary for consoles. Steam made physically buying games redundant in a lot of countries.
As long as it takes, its such a huge series that people will buy it without even seeing previews (pretty much like GTA)
it happened again

Because the third time they're actully real
Really hope it's on Steamplay. Although by the time it's released in 10 years I'll probably have a working PC and won't have to rely on my Mac so heavily.
