How is "The most qualified person should get the job" even a considered bad. You have candidates for jobs, and the one that has the most experience and qualification is the one the companies want to hire to get the most return on investment. I loved how throughout the whole video you could see the various peoples minds short circuiting as they try so desperately to be politically correct.
Americans are fucking nuts
We fucking suck so much
I want to watch this video, but I'm kind of afraid of what I'll see... I still have a desperate glimmer of faith in humanity, and I feel like it'll just crush it. I'm just glad to be working with a group of people that don't give a crap about political correctness (my editor ran a photo of herself watching porn on the front cover of the university's newspaper just because she could), and are generally really awesome people and journalists. Maybe there's hope there.
time for me to go innawoods fuck this
4:25 Motherfucker that is exactly what some of these people want to do, if they had the option they would probably pass Jim Crow-esque laws for whites.
I agree with the donald trump shit but everything else sounds pit nik pickey
So much hypocrisy in this video. Has this world turned into a Monty Python sketch or something? I feel like the people in this video have their hearts in the right place, they are just going about trying to do things the wrong way.
This video is pretty neutral, It's nice to see the people on the PC side that are more on the calm side after seeing all those crazy videos
Why is everyone such a sensitive little baby? I'm not being funny here. When did it start happening?
Linked this in the thread about students wanting to ban the first amendment. Honestly, schools have gone mad.
Why is everyone such a sensitive little baby? I'm not being funny here. When did it start happening?
2011/2012-ish. At least that's when I started seeing it get spread on the internet.
Why is everyone such a sensitive little baby? I'm not being funny here. When did it start happening?
About this, I've noticed the young people that come to my workplace as interns working for me are quite shocked by how we talk during breaks. This one girl was basically going (I'm so sorry about the smiley) ":O" almost all the time during coffee breaks. I kind of feel bad for them time to time. :v:
Fuck. Everyone. In. This video.
I feel like the people in this video have their hearts in the right place, they are just going about trying to do things the wrong way.
the story of human history
I'm glad I managed to get my degree without my brain turning into ambiguously brown gender-neutral jello. The PC culture at this point has become a monster that is unstoppable by rational dialogue. If you disagree with them you are racist, sexist, whitewashed, or controlled by the patriarchy. The contortions on these peoples faces and mental gymnastics as they struggle to think of justifications for their thoughts show just how clearly illogical the culture has become. That Yale professor's email that was being protested was one of the most well written documents I've read all year, and that was just an email that was sent out for some Halloween newsletter. The document itself was about liberating yourself from the ideas of cultural appropriation and encouraging imagination and the discovery of your own identity. How backwards do you have to be to make that man's wife resign when they represent such an open point of view? How is it that so many institutions of rational discourse and intellectual thought have been subverted by people who claim anything contrary to their worldview as morally reprehensible? Why do these people face no challenge from staff or other student groups, and instead are often encouraged, and even receive public funding for their flagrant racist behavior. They simultaneously get away with being the oppressed and the oppressor, and receive no condescension for their backwards logic in the very bastion that is supposed to create logical thinkers. As groups that claim to support diversity, they do an exemplary job of demolishing free speech and instead of creating a diverse group of thinkers they create a homogeneous society where those who think differently are ostracized, in a place where people go to escape social ostracization. Normally groups like these which hold such hypocritical and inconsistent views implode upon themselves, but this time they have managed to become self-reinforcing, where every fair criticism of their agenda is met with the cries of victims, demanding the exile of anyone who calls them out -- and getting their demands -- instead of challenging those who challenge them. This doesn't create a diverse and welcoming society free from aggression, it instead creates a society of fear, where one slip of non-conformity in your dialogue can lead to the destruction of your career, and permanent existence as a social outcast. I've said it once and I'll say it a million times, you don't reach a moral truth by shutting yourself out to beliefs contrary to your own, you slam everything you have against everything the conflicting side has, and what you have that still holds ground is something that is a little closer to the truth.
How is calling a black person 'articulate' supposed to be a microagression? Like, I can wrap my head around the rest (in a vague sense) but that one just makes no sense.
Free speech always becomes a touchy matter whenever applied to a concrete example since every person has their own idea of when free speech becomes a "hate crime" or something along those lines.
I didn't realise what a position of power I was in, and how much I will be shaping history by standing up for Free Speech.
Western civilization is dying
How is calling a black person 'articulate' supposed to be a microagression? Like, I can wrap my head around the rest (in a vague sense) but that one just makes no sense.
I've always seen people throw around the term "microaggression" and I still have no clue what the hell it means.
Why is everyone such a sensitive little baby? I'm not being funny here. When did it start happening?
It has it's roots in 60s and 70s grass roots movements, American ones, to be specific. Ours actually were beneficial to society and is the reason why a kid can go to school today without indebting their family and being subject to a system of corporal punishment. These guys spawned what later gave birth to this monstrous shitbaby that is the social justice movement. By now I am starting to get vague ideas that some sort of mind parasite or some sort of contagious mental illness is at play here.
I've always seen people throw around the term "microaggression" and I still have no clue what the hell it means.
IIRC it's being unintentionally racist or something along those lines.
It must be such a clusterfuck for universities these days to figure out what they should do and what they should ignore once students come knocking on their door because X is offensive to a few people. Also i wanna share this again.
Western civilization is dying
I've never seen anything like this outside of America. Western civilization is just fine. It's the US that should be worried about their next generation.
The fact that they abbreviate the college's name as "Oxy" is just beautiful, because they're all morons.
