In another recent case involving a grand jury, white cops, and a black civilian, a grand jury in the east Texas town of Jasper, about two hours from Houston, chose last month not to indict two police officers for the brutal beating of Jasper resident Keyarika Diggles. Diggles had been arrested and jailed in May 2013 over an unpaid $100 parking ticket (which, it turned out, she had been paying in installments.) As you can see in the surveillance video below, at some point officers Ricky Grissom and Ryan Cunningham grab Diggles, slam her head on the counter, pull her hair and drag her across the floor by her feet:
Please Note: The officers were fired, But no criminal charges are being filed. City Settled For $75,000

I don't quite know how to feel about this, I'll wait to see whats trending.
Snip
Are they just getting the same 12 people to do these
What.
Why don't they record audio....
Why don't they record audio....
Because it's illegal to record someone's voice without their consent in pretty much every state. That's why every security camera has no audio.
Why don't they record audio....
because then you cant hear whatever she said to provoke the officers and what she said while off to the side before being taken to the ground. but i forgot shes black and officers white so cops must be in the wrong and mike brown was innocent

Nothing you can say to an officer should have this terrible of a violent response
What the fuck is up with American police lately?
Nothing you can say to an officer should have this terrible of a violent response
What if the officer asked her to put her hands behind her back because he needed to handcuff her and she refused? This seems likely because he first goes for her hands, but she pushes him away. He then calls the other officer and they take her to the floor.
I'm not saying this happened, but it isn't beyond a reasonable doubt.

They grabbed her by her hair, slammed her head on the counter and dragged her across the floor are you fucking kidding me?
saying they 'slammed' her head on the counter is an over-exaggeration, to me it looks like they were pushing her chest onto the bench so they could cuff her hands behind her back but she obviously resisted.
The cops got fired and the city gave her $75,000
Sounds like justice was served.

Did you watch the video? They didn't "slam her head against the counter." They are constantly pushing down, but she moved towards the counter. She then held on to the edge of the counter in order to resist going down. They also dragged her by the foot to move her towards the cell, not arbitrarily. How else do you move somebody who is trying to resist?
It seems odd that police who intend to violently hurt a woman instantly stop being aggressive as soon as she is on the ground handcuffed.

The media is broadcasting every evil action a cop ever committed while ignoring all the millions more times police went out on patrol and didn't have an incident.
Would you watch a headline, "Breaking News: Cop over tips waitress at diner, more at 11"?

i wonder if i'd just get fired for assaulting someone while working?

yes it must just be the media, couldn't possibly be that there is some serious problems within the american justice system. it's actually just the media
I know this may be a bit childish considering the content of the video, but I fell back in my chair in fits of laughter when the one cop at 1:33 attempted to pull the lady by her foot, and instead ended up pulling her shoe off and stumbling backwards onto his ass.

Hahaha when the cop goes to pull her by the feet but her shoe falls off and he ends up tumbling backwards

That damn librul media at it again
What started this? Was she mouthing off just for the sake of it? It looks like she got told to get off the phone and made a big fit of it. Was she refusing to get finger printed or something similar?
I don't think saying they "slammed" her head into the counter is accurate, It looks like they sort of just bent her over it, they do the same deal when they bend someone over the car hood during a traffic stop or similar situation, I'm assuming at that point it's training kicking in, dunno what they did wrong exactly.
I didn't see any hair pulling really (but that doesn't mean it didn't happen ofc) , and while the dragging looked sort of out of the ordinary I guess I don't really know what else they're supposed to do when someone who looks heavy as hell is being uncooperative and won't get off the ground and move their ass where they need to be.
All in all I'm really confused as to what people think cops should do when they have limited manpower on hand and someone is being uncooperative with them, nothing there seems like shit I wouldn't expect to happen when someone is resisting. You can't expect them to just let her lay there in the middle of a hallway until she feels like moving, that's dumb.
Maybe I'm just too indoctrinated in to the police state but this doesn't look like something someone should have even been suspended for, let alone fired for and handing the lady a huge wad of cash.

Uhh, Being fired from a job isn't going to trial or a substitute for going through a trial and being charged with a crime. What does the police officer care? It's not his $75,000

If I had to guess it looks like they told her she couldnt use that phone and that she needed to sit and calm down then probably arrested her for trespassing when she wouldnt calm down. She was resisting arrest is what it appears like though.
What started this? Was she being mouthing off just for the sake of it?
Yeah because mouthing off is worthy of being beaten.
She was arrested for an unpaid parking ticket that she was in the process of paying - it's understandable that she'd be frustrated. It seems pretty obvious that the police officers reacted aggressively. Even if she said "fuck all of you guys" or something else vulgar, they shouldn't have reacted in such an aggressive manner - angrily spinning the chair, trying to pull her by her feet, slamming her head against the counter.
She was arrested on a technicality and then beaten. Doesn't matter what she said, the police reaction was unnecessarily harsh.
This is one of those times when English is really ambiguous. For a moment, I thought this meant that Texas wasn't going to indict officers who commit domestic abuse, but no, it's the past tense of beat. Darn.

yeah fucking jew-liberal-feminist-black-sjw media making cops look bad by showing what bad cops do!
I'm pretty damn sure everyone is aware that not all cops do this, this is why people are screaming for an end to police brutality, not an end to policing.
I'm pretty damn sure everyone is aware that all cops do this, this is why people are screaming for an end to police brutality, not an end to policing.
Wow, that's probably the most generalized and bigoted thing I've seen all day.
All cops? Every single cop is a bad person who brutally beats innocent people? I'm sure you wrote that without really thinking about it, but I'm not sure why it's acceptable to make that kind of statement about police when you would instantly be condemned by everyone if it were about other certain groups.
fuck it snip
