It's genuine, by the way. Well, genuine in the sense that this is a real Microsoft advert, which has been linked to by its official Twitter account. Not genuine, of course, in the sense that Microsoft hasn't started manufacturing eau de toilette (though, trust me, if you ever go to Gamescom when it's open to the public, you'll will wish they did). So, er, why exactly is Microsoft advertising Destiny, the New Fragrance by Xbox? Well, in the UK Microsoft is not allowed to advertise the game for Xbox One, due to an agreement between Activision and Sony. On the Fragrance advert's website you'll notice a message explaining: "Okay, so here's the lowdown. Destiny is actually an epic new first-person shooter, available on Xbox. Thing is, we didn’t have permission to run adverts for the game. So we didn’t." Such a restriction caused a stink (sorry. Not sorry) within Microsoft's marketing department, and quite clearly has brought out the best in them. Well done all. Destiny launches September 9 on Xbox 360, Xbox One, and I think it's available on other platforms too. Not sure.
http://www.gamespot.com/articles/destiny-the-new-fragrance-by-xbox/1100-6422125/
I don't think the people in charge of Xbox's success are getting that PS4 is dominating them because PS4 is actually producing video games and features for those video games. Just how far down does this rabbit hole go?
That's the cheekiest fucking thing I have ever seen in response to what is a monumentally stupid agreement :v:
Does it smell of Doritos and bum sweat?
I don't know whether to call this idiotic or brilliant. Cause I must admit, all the Destiny ads are clearly sucking Sony's dick. Guess I'll go with brilliant.
Smells like Doritos and Mountain Dew with hints of body odor and an underlying tone of dirty fedora smell.
absolutely brilliant
I want to use the Micheal Jordan laugh gif. I really do.
Isn't this kind of false advertising?
Absolutely amazing, kudos Microsoft. The fact that non-exclusive games can be bought to not even acknowledge other platforms it's coming to is baffling.

I still find this amazing and wish it exists.

This is really cool.
Does it smell of Doritos and bum sweat?
it tastes of fermented pube fat
See, this would be a cool thing to get in a collector's edition. Not that I want perfume, but it'd be a neat conversion starter with a great story attached to it and really damn unique to boot.
Isn't this kind of false advertising?
Its a subtle advertisement for the xbox version of destiny, since Sony is cockblocking microsoft at every turn. Sony may be my white knight in shining armor, but this is despicable even to me. Its a multi-platform title, MARKET IT AS SUCH!
See, this would be a cool thing to get in a collector's edition. Not that I want perfume, but it'd be a neat conversion starter with a great story attached to it and really damn unique to boot.
aftershave exists too you know
This is really cool. If you trying to make a informed choice, you don't base you choice off marketing
Just the information "This game is not limited to x platform" can be had from advertising, and it's a pivotal piece of information for consumers. Don't kid yourself.
Except that both PS4 and XBone have no decent exclusives. Especially when it's slightly slower hardware. I'll be the first one to say that I find all the Kinect integration really cool, but the marketing probably put too much focus on the media part of the equation as well.
the bone has less sales because it has less international appeal, most of the features are locked to the united states only
Currently the Wii U is actually outselling it by about a 1000 units per week (has been steady for around a month or so), but with the much wider release here in September, I'm pretty confident that we'll see that change.

This reminds me when Saints Row devs launched the GAT 4 DLC on steam.
Except that both PS4 and XBone have no decent exclusives. There was fucking nothing at all, while sony was still churning out some great games.
Isn't the Wii U also currently outselling the PS4 in Japan?
Yeah, it is. The PS4 is massively outselling both the Xbone and the Wii U in every other market. I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft already started to introduce more offers (like the "choose one free game deal"), because they're getting fairly major ass right now.
As wrong as Sony is for this, Microsoft shouldn't act like they're a victim, especially they're doing the exact same thing with CoD Advanced Warfare. See: https://www.youtube.com/user/PlayStation/search?query=advanced+warfare
Yeah because Microsoft has never paid developers to advertise a game strictly on it's consoles......
