• Canada: Medical marijuana legal in all forms, Supreme Court rules
Medical marijuana patients will now be able to consume marijuana — and not just smoke it — as well as use other extracts and derivatives, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled today. The unanimous ruling against the federal government expands the definition of medical marijuana beyond the "dried" form. The country's highest court found the current restriction to dried marijuana violates the right to liberty and security "in a manner that is arbitrary and hence is not in accord with the principles of fundamental justice." Holy shit! That's an enormous ruling! Let's get some of that Supreme Court love down here in the states too!
So, Canada just legalized marijuana?
So, Canada just legalized marijuana?
"Medical" cannabis, yeah. So you need a dispensary card or MMAR to acquire it legally. It's not fully legal.
This is huge. Kudos to the Canadian government.
So, Canada just legalized marijuana?
No. Read the article. Canada passed legislation that lets medical marijuana made through whatever methods it can be. It is allowed in edibles, oils, concentrates, etc. That's all. A sidenote to this, British Columbia is currently seeking to ignore this law and ban the sale of edibles, concentrates and oils.
I seriously hope not though, that would be endlessly retarded. :suicide:
I wouldn't put it past our provincial government to do all sorts of stupid things. Our current provincial government has been linked to corruption, scandal, finance issues, sketchy business practices and sketchy referendums. They are planning to ban edibles from being sold due to the fact a brownie or a cookie is a "Childs" food, and will entice children to buy them, regardless of the fact they can't buy them. They want oils and concentrates to be banned as they don't see a point to them. They want all dispensaries to be treated worse than liquor stores are. It's kind of a ridiculous situation that clearly differs from the voters decision on this issue.
Meanwhile, the City of Vancouver sits there and gives the finger to both the province and the feds. Maybe I'll try again to get a doctor to at least sign something a dispensary will accept. Mostly I'm just tired of my own federal health authority deeming me a criminal, not a patient seeking valid treatment.
Why not just legalize it fully? Come on guys, this is 2015
Why not just legalize it fully? Come on guys, this is 2015
Not while King Stevie Harps is in government.
