We've been working on a tactical FPS for a while, it's difficult and strategic but still injected with a firm dose of action movie crap. We've been posting our progress on the UE4 dev thread but we've just made our first proper Greenlight trailer.
It's still early in development but we're really happy with the state of the game so far. If you likey likey we will keep updating this thread with our progress as we make our way through the ridiculous amount of work left to complete BLISTER.
If you want to help you can vote for our game on Steam Greenlight!

Cheers lads
Looking very good, I like how the guns and explosions really have weight behind them, the environment blowing up around you looks really cool too.
Does the enemy react to the RC helicopter?
From that trailer it didn't look like they gave a shit about it.
They did originally but it got frustrating with hoe easily they saw and shot you, so we definitely need to find a good balance still
fuck it looks good
been wanting another shooter like SWAT
Gunplay looks awesome, although the walking animations could use work; AI looks janky as well.
Please tell me the AI says british slang.
I would instantly buy it if they said things like "cor blimey mate" after getting flashbanged,
Or "you fookin wot mate, you wanna go?!" after getting hit.

"Work in progress"
Still looks like IK chains and animation speed to traversal speed has to be lined up.
I see a lot of floating limbs (usually highlighted by the shadows) and everyone seems to be forward moonwalking a bit.

You know it m8
And yeah animations are the area we're lacking the most at the moment. All the first person ones are made by me and I'm extremely far from competent. The anims for the characters are ok, from a ue4 marketplace asset but the rig ruins them completely
"Work in progress"
So fucking what? If there's any good time to ask about these things it's right now when it's WIP.

Honestly no idea how UE 4 handles IKs but once that's fixed, the floaty legs ought to be gone.
As to the moonwalking, that's pretty obviously a mismatch of the walk speed to the actual animation. I presume the marketplace one didn't include annotation about the units/second. If that's the case, you'll have to experiment :P
It doesn't, but once we get someone who can actually rig we can put the characters on the ue4 skeleton nstead of our shitty one. Then the movement can be based on the root motion so it should line up
And on the topic of the working in progress thing, I don't consider that as a pass from criticism. Point out stuff you notice all the way! It's helpful
I've been working on animations for BLISTER.
Well, only gotten so far as doing one set of animations. If only exporting Blender to UE4 was simpler.
P.S.
I can't for the life of me figure out how to make my videos on Dropbox get played rather than downloaded.
Are the any consequences to going full rambo and killing everyone as opposed to going stealthy and non-lethal? Or is it play however you wish.
Oh man I remember seeing this back in the game development thread. Very nice to see how far it's going.
Do you have a public folder in your dropbox? If you throw them in there and copy the "public" link it might work differently

They're in the public folder, shared via public links. But they just don't work :c
Imma just up them on youtube.
Ahm, I've only seen mp4 files embedded here. avi files might not work as well.
Should probably make a thread in General Games section for updating on progress.
It might be simpler to just throw them up on a fast file-sharing site like:

Generally stealthy is gonna be a very difficult option (Actually I'm not entirely sure it's even possible), but yeah in the "police" mode (Basically story mode) it'll be possible to priority non-lethal methods, and in any case running in without any preparation is gonna get you killed straight up. In the "assault" mode though you'll be able to not take any team mates and edit the variables so that you're a crazy killing machine with ridiculous stupid weapons. We've got some cool ideas for crazy weapons like the Royal sceptre and a holy hand grenade. I'd feel like it's always missing something if you can't throw tea in terrorist's faces also.

If you need any help, I'm available.
After a lot of frustration I've actually got Blender-to-UE4 to work rather nicely

You can't have G3-based weapons without that slap
The weapon handling in the trailer looks pretty awesome; Not welded to the centre of your screen, but not waggling all over the place like INS or RO
Looking forward to seeing how this progresses, just please don't be another Takedown

Oh cool. Out of curiosity, how's your in house skeleton actually set up? Compared to UEs default.
the ragdoll effects are exaggerated in my opinion and dont really suit the somewhat realistic looking gunplay
in SWAT 4 bodies had some weight to them which I really liked a lot, i know you mentioned "action movie crap" but to me it just ends up looking silly and way over the top rather than actually cool, i mean even in hollywood you dont see dead guys doing double backflips after being shot with rifles
but the destruction highlights you included in the video looked amazing, hoping to see more of that in the next trailer
The first person viewmodels look a little weird but I guess you were trying to go for realism, still looks great :toot:

Scrolled down just to post this. The only thing that I'm seeing that IMO needs to be fixed quickly before it's somehow forgotten, is the ridiculously light ragdolls. Everything else appears to be shaping up nicely, so nice work!
I've been reading through and I see you mention the fact its singleplayer. Is there really no plans for coop?
Me and my friend have been hoping for a new game like SWAT 4 to come out and this looks perfect, but the lack of a coop mode is a bit off putting.
Not buying if I can't fuck my whole team with bouncy ball grenades.

Trailer does look pretty fun though.
