BBC Worldwide has signed a deal to lend its popular properties to a new £2bn Paramount Pictures theme park in England.
BBC shows including “Doctor Who” and “Top Gear” could become part of this park, set to open by Easter 2020.
The 900-acre site sits next to Ebbsfleet International railway station and will include rides, shows, and thousands of hotel rooms.

the thing is though, theme parks are very very hard to make profitable. This comes from working 2 summers at a moderately sized amusement park. The amount of effort, talent, care and most importantly, money, that's required to make these operations work at all is endless. Making a profit margin is even harder, and it's not like it's even an untapped market.
Plus London isnt exactly a warm, welcoming climate.
That entrance area couldn't look any more British if it tried.

Nah, if my time playing Roller Coaster Tycoon is anything to go by, all you need to do to make an amusement park turn a profit is charge guests 500 bucks to use the toilet.
No Red Dwarf pavilion?

In my mind, all I can see is Wee Britain. :v:

Red Dwarf > Doctor Who
Also, I remember the good ol' days when King's Island was owned by Paramount. That place rocked back then. I remember guys dressed up as Klingons n' shit walking around (was back when Next Generation was still making new episodes).
i wouldn't mind goin there.
Top Gear?
Imagine a ride based around running down bicyclists and upsetting as many different cultures as possible.
"H982 FKL, this is BE11 END, we're approaching the bridge and there seems to be a slope in the middle of it. Permission to proceed."

Then the boost launchers take off and pieces of bicycles going flying from every direction as the coaster shoots off a bridge.

Best amusement park attraction... In the world.

I'd quite happily ride 'The Rimmer Experience' sipping a beer flavoured milkshake.
This is like London trying to do Disney. Almost like what the US did to The Office, but in reverse...

Doctor Who alone will make it profitable as long as it's not complete shit and has at least one TARDIS ride.

Also Paramount is behind it.

Made a successful cultural adaptation?
Does it features the argentinian mood rollercoaster?
Doctor Who and star trek have a MASSIVE fanbase but I'll be honest, what's the appeal?
I'm a huge star trek lover, and Dr. who lover. but hopefully it stands out from other places. And isn't just "Same shit, different paint"
I'm biased though, I never really go to theme parks
They better have a Disney-Esq ride titled "Day in the life of The Stig"
And the Stig Farm.

mite b cool
I'm sure 26 year old me will have time in 2020 to go to themeparks
Will it have a roof so that they can experience true british weather, 90% overcast
oh god imagine if there's gonna be a top gear episode around this
the whole park is gonna be on fire

lay money down on it that the top gear section will just be taking the piss out of the healthy and safety in this country
as soon as anyone sets foot in the area they have to wear hi vis jackets and hard hats
I visit England often, I'd go in 2020 when it opens.
The one thing the whole UK lacks is some obnoxious over-the-top theme parks. This is exactly what I've been waiting for for years.
Alton towers is #1, only issue is it's in the middle of nowhere and has a tree-height limit
( so nothing like this :
[t]http://www.coasterimage.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/intimidator-11.jpg[/t] ).
Second to that is Thorpe Park, but that's built on a shitty swamp and generally is awful.

It'll be built less than half hour from where i live, the weather the past few years is very comparable with France these days. Honestly I've seen more of that bright round thing in the sky in the past 2 years alone than in the 22 years previous.

Still better than in london which is a total shithole.
Bumper cars with actual Reliant Robins
They don't go fast enough to hurt anyone in a crash anyway
what even is this utopian structure they've got concepted

(according to the url it's star trek themed, gonna be pretty damn cool if they pull it off)
Also Ebbsfleet where this would be built is not London. It's Kent.

English theme parks close during autumn and winter. Also I presume licence fee payers get free entry?
