I love how in the hall, their recording carriage is a dude pushing another guy who holds a cellphone, in a cart

must be a budget issue
hl2 hunters soon.
So can this thing turn? or is it purely working on different kinds of forward movement?
must be a budget issue
well even when money wasn't an issue why would you buy expensive gear if you could just use a guy in a cart
So can this thing turn? or is it purely working on different kinds of forward movement?
I'm not sure if it can turn on the spot, but while running it can turn by banking slightly to the sides, like a bike.
Now give it an RPG 7 and the ability to auto-reload, and this thing we'll be sold to every Dictator Chipachangua before the paint drys!

but it was supposed to be a cheetah

They're engineers, they don't care how it looks as long as it works

Small rotating pistol-esque weapon plus the ability to roam and navigate back to base for reload
This is the future.
What I find really interesting is how it handles the bigger obstacles better than the smaller ones.

And the Bradley is meant to be amphibious.
And of course DARPA is funding this. :v:
darpa has been funding this type of robot to use it like a packmule in combat. it will allow soldiers to have their ammo/food/water/weapons on it and not on them while being able to walk up mountains or other odd footing terrain.
Imagine being a terrorist and being hunted down by a pack of these things.
Pretty metal gear

I'm aware. For some reason it just rubs me the wrong way that they can probably only do this kind of research because of military funding.

*slowly drives up behind cheetah robot* *does nothing* heh nothing personal DARPA

This is how almost all technology cycles. Look at all the innovations that came from nasa and the military.

there's pretty much no practical use for it outside of the military right now
"Never taken a shortcut before?"

He looks like a kid that was expecting something much more awesome.
That's pretty great, although the next step should be engineering it so that it can round corners without falling onto its side.
