http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/12/04/pat-robertson-gay-nephew-advice-_n_4385974.html
Pat Robertson told a "700 Club" viewer that homosexuality is "a delicate situation" and suggested she pray for her 30-year-old nephew who just came out as gay, Right Wing Watch first reported. Robertson, whose eyebrow-raising claims about the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community are essentially a trademark of his "700 Club" broadcasts, told the woman that her nephew may have been abused in the past. Still, he suggested she make her nephew realize how "explicit" the Bible is in its condemnation of homosexuality. “A few years ago psychiatrists and psychologists used to say that homosexuality was a mental illness, now the Supreme Court has said that it is a protected right,” Robertson said. “So what’s he going to pray about? Is he going to say something is wrong and he’s unhappy? And if he’s unhappy and realizes he is doing something that makes him miserable, you might help him.”
You really just need to watch the video.
Robertson is one of the greatest comedians of our time. "Gay marriage leads to man on duck marriage. " [editline]5th December 2013[/editline] People wrote songs about it.
Please help me-- I can't stop wedding waterfowl!
God damn, I got really confused because I got Pat Robertson and Robert Pattinson mixed up :v:
Well that is a rather odd stance of his, to view transgender people in a positive(ish) light.
yes show him the bible, because a book that has been translated from ancient greek to latin, from latin to middle english and has had multiple edits to it over the centuries couldn't possibly maybe be a little inaccurate as to the exact moral message in every passage, also something tells me he's not going to suddenly say "oh golly, ive been lusting amorally over the wrong gender, thank you for showing me the way" what world do these people live in where they think a 30 year old man is going to suddenly change who he is and what he is just because 4-5 passages out of the bible tells him he's wrong at least he didn't tell her to hate her son or that he is damned to hell
As much as I think that Pat Robertson is a nut, his views are more reasonable than many other Christians' views. He is also not very militant about homosexuality. He views it as wrong, but he doesn't go spouting that we're going to Hell or that we should be stoned to death. I think he's a nice guy who simply puts too much faith in the "explicitness" of the Bible on certain issues.

someone being incredibly homophobic but okay with trans people that's a new one
someone being incredibly homophobic but okay with trans people that's a new one
My ex's parents hate gay people but the mom sympathizes with and likes transgender people. It's the strangest thing.
My ex's parents hate gay people but the mom sympathizes with and likes transgender people. It's the strangest thing.
The bible doesn't say anything against it to my knowledge.
someone being incredibly homophobic but okay with trans people that's a new one
Does anyone know weather or not the bible mentions trangenderism? He seems to be taking the stance of the bible, I dunno, he's confusing.
The bible doesn't say anything against it to my knowledge.
Maybe not directly, but it is just as hateful in some aspects of the idea.
Maybe not directly, but it is just as hateful in some aspects of the idea.
Not really, this wasn't a concept that anyone considered at the time. And since medical knowledge was limited to bleeding = usually bad, it wasn't something anyone paid attention to. The bible says you can't have a man fuck a man, but it's completely silent on whether a man can become a woman, because this just was not a concept that anyone considered, let alone considered possible.

Make tassels on the four corners of the cloak you wear.
The reason why these were made laws, was to separate the Israelite culture from the other nations of the world. However, since God opened to the non-Jews, these laws do not apply anymore, as there is no reason for separation. According to the Bible, there is nothing wrong with it anymore.
someone being incredibly homophobic but okay with trans people that's a new one
I really cannot wrap my head around how ass backwards it is especially when progays seem to normally be all "Trans are unnatural!!!" its actually pretty surreal. But seeing that there are people who are extremely anti-abortionists in all cases but proguns and extremely prowar I guess it doesn't surprise me that much.
