Nikon D40 So i've noticed (hard not to) that there is some fucking shit in my camera, It's making all the pictures shit. And i need help on how to get it away. I can't say if it's in the Lens or the Camera it self. here's an example of how much of an bitch it is I have removed the lens and blowed a little but it's still there. Please help :(
What kind of camera/lens is it?
My advice is to either try a different lens and see if the problem is with the camera or you lens. If it isn't with the camera get a new lens or photoshop out the marks on your photos.
Try a different lens, if it's something with the camera, take it in to get the sensor cleaned. Problem solved.
It's a Nikon D40 with an 18-55 lens. It's the only lens i got, And i cant afford an another. So you guys say that my camera is fucked? And taking it in for sensor cleaning could take ages, since i live in the middle of nowhere
You just have a dirty sensor dude it takes like $30 to go get all the internals of your camera cleaned.

I have a Wolf Camera near by and they'll either clean it for you and you can come back in a few hours and pay $20-30; OR they'll send it to a place to be cleaned.
Could i be able to clean manually? Cus i can't dig up 30 euros just like that.
Could i be able to clean manually?
I wouldn't attempt it if I were you, you have to take the camera (partially) apart to effectively get to the sensor.
Could i be able to clean manually?
I wouldn't recommend it, mainly because you could end up letting in more dust/particles. Unless you can do it in a very clean environment.
But this guy had the same problem and he did this
Hello, I seemed to have fixed the problem, my father has a Nikon D40x and we read his manual on cleaning, since the D40 and the "X" are very similar. We cleaned the low pass filter I believe, by using the mirror lock-up option in the camera. I am now very very happy there is no dirt
We didn't say you can't. We said we didn't recommend it.
Just buy a £5 camera cleaning kit.
I think i'll send it to cleaning. Does anyone have any tips on how to prevent this from happening in the future?
Keep lens covers on it if there's no lens attached at all times.
My camera has a feature that will hold the shutter open so you can clean it. I still wouldn't recommend doing it yourself though.
So does mine, it's still a bitch to get in there with a cu tip without making it dirtier.
Nah man, you use a vacuum. :v: I'm pretty sure that's what they use at the service center.
Oh what the christ. Lol
Use a sponge!
Use peanut butter [editline]08:38PM[/editline] !
try this before you pay a bunch of money for some guy to do something you could do just as easily
try this before you pay a bunch of money for some guy to do something you could do just as easily
But the only thing i have is like a bike air pump :(
The sensor isn't as sensitive as people make out, I used one of those thin brushes with the air pump on the back so it blows air through the brush to clean my sensor and I accidentially dropped the little metal bit that keeps them together onto the sensor, I was scared as shit but it didn't bother it any. Another time in my failing attempts to clean the sensor I managed to have the circular vaccum cleaner hole effectively covering up and even touching the metal ring where the lens goes, and my camera still works great. However I don't recomend trying any of these on purpose as the viewfinder in my camera now has lots of crap in it. It doesn't affect the photos but I have no idea how it got there and is slightly annoying in really dark and really bright scenes.
But the only thing i have is like a bike air pump :(
man go to the store and buy one, or go online and buy one lol jeeze
So i went to one of the local camera shops and asked mow much it would be to clean the camera. She said it would be 89 euros/hour. Fucking seriously? That will be like 270 euros. I'd rather fucking get photshop or clean the camera my self. I'll wait a week until the other camera store opens up since they're on a "vacaiton". 89 euros/hour my asshole.
Or you could just buy a cleaning kit with all the shit you need for less then 89 euros.
Or you could just buy a cleaning kit with all the shit you need for less then 89 euros.
Well as i said, The other camera store is closed til thr 27th.
I just got some on my sensor too. :(
Don't clean your filter (or anything further inside the camera than the mirror, and even then be careful) yourself, it's not worth the risk; paying someone to clean it will in the long run be far cheaper than the one time you make a mistake and make a mark Clean the mirror (carefully), clean both ends of the lens, and bloody 'ell don't let dust get in there in the first place. Don't remove a lens unless you're changing them, and if for whatever reason it doesn't have a lens on it then use the body cap. It's a precision machine, not some toy gadget, treat it well

Cleaning it myself will be the last option.
