To put that number into perspective, the current record holder, Call of Duty: Black Ops II sold just under 11 million units in its first five days on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Well deserved, Rockstar. I wonder how they'll celebrate it :v:
Well deserved, Rockstar. I wonder how they'll celebrate it :v:
By swimming in the money vault.
Well deserved, Rockstar. I wonder how they'll celebrate it :v:
All-night session of Killing Floor.
By swimming in the money vault.
They won't be swimming in money just yet. They invested quite heavily into R&D and they gotta get that back first.
Well deserved, Rockstar. I wonder how they'll celebrate it :v:
Cocaine and hookers, just like Rockstars

I don't doubt it at all, there was easily at least 1000 people at the strip mall Gamestop I went to for the midnight release. Fortunately, my 360 which I haven't touched in seven years still works. [sp]Unfortunately, its 13GB HDD only has 7GB available after system files. GTAV requires 8GB.[/sp]
Well deserved, Rockstar. I wonder how they'll celebrate it :v:
Marathon Saints Row 4 sesh They probably sick of GTA V
Well deserved, Rockstar. I wonder how they'll celebrate it :v:
With GTA:SA
Well deserved, Rockstar. I wonder how they'll celebrate it :v:
Announce PC port
Well deserved, Rockstar. I wonder how they'll celebrate it :v:
Soggy biscuit.
I always hoped that Rockstar made enough money from these massive blockbuster games to profit off of them.
It would be twice the amount if they did a PC port
Well deserved, Rockstar. I wonder how they'll celebrate it :v:
They're based in Scotland aren't they? So pub crawl I guess?
lets double that number with a PC release, please?
A Video Game selling +10,000,000 copies at 60 dollars a pop. Is over half a billion dollars, Good Game.
A Video Game selling +10,000,000 copies at 60 dollars a pop. For all we know Rockstar designed GTA V while drunk off their asses and managed to royally fuck it up.
its cool that grand theft auto is popular but can people please stop pre-ordering games, that business model is entirely what allows studios to publish products like duke nukem forever, sim city, and aliens colonial marines without going bankrupt. if, thanks to preorder hype, a game doesn't even have to be playable to break even then things are going to get a lot worse for the consumer [editline]17th September 2013[/editline]
No. It means it's a moneymaking game, but it doesn't guarantee it's gonna be good. I don't think it's a fuckup.
GTA V is the only game I've ever pre-ordered because I know it's going to be good given Rockstars history. Me and gta go way back, oh yes.
Wii-U version please
The only GTA games I have actually enjoyed were Vice City and Vice City stories. Chinatown wars is fun to pop in sometimes and sell drugs but the rest of them just don't do anything to hold my interest. GTA 4 was so so boring and even with all the mods I had it was still dull.

Was hell in GAME today. There was a a non-stop queue going to the store's entrance, all buying GTA. My fingers ache from all the taka takaing I was doing on the till. Our tiny store alone took in 1000+ preorders alone before it's release.
I stood outside my local GAME until about 2:30 last night, there was a ridiculous amount of people there considering there's only 2 tills in the store, and it's in a fairly small town.
I ordered it on amazon as it was sold out most places, midnight releases seem dumb anyway I'd rather sleep and properly function the next day
