Daaaaaamn, props to him for finishing the match and still doing the other spots
CENAWINSLOL still though
Holy crap I thought wrestling was fake. Do people break parts intentionally just for entertainment?
Holy crap I thought wrestling was fake. Do people break parts intentionally just for entertainment?
It's "fake" in the sense that it's all a pre-scripted show, but they're still doing real stunts live on stage. Things can go wrong.
Even if WWE is scripted you can still suffer horrendous injuries, not to mention the brain damage it causes long term. Massive respect to him carrying the match on flawlessly, I'll be panicking if that happened to me.

It's all scripted to shit but the punches are very real.
I like to compare WWE to a circus or Cique du Soleil where the performances may be scripted, but performers can still get injured horribly if the mess up or props malfunction.
One of the worst things I've seen live in wrestling is Joey Mercury's nose injury
It's all scripted to shit but the punches are very real.
Not really. They're trained at a school to know how to fake punches and do all of those moves. If they were throwing real punches and actually beating the shit out of each other, we'd have a lot of seriously injured people. The stunts are real and extremely dangerous sometimes, which has lead to the death of wrestlers before, like with Owen Hart.
It's all scripted to shit but the punches are very real.
No, the punches are fake stage punches. Either Cena or this other guy fucked the stunt up and actually ended up hurting Cena. My guess is it was Cena that messed up, he was probably supposed to pull his head away but didn't.
Yeah they mostly pull punches and shit, all the other moves are still painful as fuck and a botch can fuck you up seriously
It should also be noted, the mats in the ring are not as cushioned as people tend to think. It's a wooden platform with thin foam on top of it.
They are constantly slamming themselves down on plywood.

This and Owen's piledriver on Austin are still some the worst botches I've seen. In WWE of course. Guys in the indies botch like there's no tomorrow.

My post wasn't meant to be looking down on wrestling or anything. I've not watched it so I was genuinely curious.

i didn't even think those were botches i figured they were just always reckless

I believe there's a spring system like a trampoline under the plywood, the plywood is there for effect and to have a rigid stage for them to work on.

Eddie fucking up his blade job was pretty bad, too.

major blood warning.
Holy crap I thought wrestling was fake. Do people break parts intentionally just for entertainment?
they used to throw real punches in order to draw blood, but nowadays they mostly just cut themselves

But it says WWE forbids the wrestlers cutting from cutting themselves.
i mean they fake punches because then everyone would just end up tired or unconscious a minute in but throws, slams, splashes can't be faked
gotta learn how to take a hit

post 2008, and for only for WWE
Wow what a heel. As soon as his nose broke he goes in to kick him in the head.

There was a video (that got removed by WWE from YouTube) where you could hear the wrestlers telling eachother what to do next while in the ring. I read that sometimes the winner of some fights is even decided in the ring itself.

There are still videos that show this off, specifically the "Everybody Talks Too Much" segments in Botchamania.

The winner of the match doesn't get changed in the ring unless something bad happened or they fuck something up.
Also, there's a 280 part video series of wrestlers fucking up called Botchamania with a section dedicated to John Cena yelling wrestling moves at people.

You literally beat me by 45 seconds.
When Cm Punk was leading Nexus there was a segment where Cena was supposed to throw a punch at Punk but it actually connected with Punks nose and it bled everywhere.
Most wrestlers will try their best to continue the match no matter what happens to them. They can lose their arm and still refuse to end the match. "The show must go on."
This reminds me of the time Miz got rocked by Kofi and they replayed it a thousand times.

Didn't Sin Cara (the original) break his finger during a match and decided not to finish the match?
Worst botches by far are Misawa and Aguayo dying from in ring injuries.
Barring those, there's Hayabusa breaking his neck and why you shouldn't try to imitate Ricochet
