To be honest, a lot of the shit missing from the end product seems to be just special effects and such.
I...can't really see much difference
I may be speaking out of my ass, but even on low, it still looks to be fairly well textured.
Is this with that line in the config file changed from 'console' to 'pc'?
To be honest, a lot of the shit missing from the end product seems to be just special effects and such.
Perhaps some post-processing filters could be modded in?
Looks pretty much exactly the same. The only things I noticed were slight lightning and mostly weather.
why can you not change the texture resolution? it looks literally the same other than missing most light sources (and the ones that are there have a lower shadow map)
I no longer regret ordering this for a console instead of upgrading my PC.
So I can play with the graphics of either Sleeping Dogs on high or Saints Row 2 on low depending on my PC.
The only thing that stood out to me was the last comparison Those are some very good shadows on Ultra
To be fair this sucks balls since dropping to low will not grant you all that much of additional fps you need if you are switching to low anyway
Am I the only one fairly disappointed by the looks of this game?
looks like the only stuff it drops is shadow quality (but there's no option to turn it off completely), AA, and AO. Texture res not dropping at all has to be a bug or something.
Am I the only one fairly disappointed by the looks of this game?
I played it and it's very mediocore to be fair. All the deep interactions and shit shown at E3 is not a thing in final release. You can't even punch or fight pedestrians. Only baton hostiles. And when you commit a crime the mini-game to avoid detection or escaping cops is very mundane. It discourages you from committing crime which sounds good on paper but makes things a lot less fun in the process. One strange thing I noticed is how game does weight. When you get in a car your car will weight a lot more and push others apart as if you were a fast tank. Once I died near a car and my ragdoll pushed the car to the side lol. Aiden let himself go for sure. Oh and on PC keyboard and mouse controls are not very good. There's mouse acceleration you can't turn off.

Only major difference I could spot outright was in the first clip where the specular was removed
aw man what the hell
You can shoot them but no melee brawls.
on low, he becomes more cautious. that's the only difference I saw.
Why do people use YouTube for these sort of comparisons? It makes it so difficult to actually tell the difference (if there is any). Why not just upload a bunch of uncompressed images so people can put them side by side and zoom to see the (admittedly subtle in this case) visual differences without a shitton of compression.
Ubisoft made everything sound as if the city was your playground and you could do whatever you wanted. They even said you could be villainous or heroic with the decisions you make. Shit like this REALLY strays away from that..

You don't need to go all CSI on a picture to tell the difference between high and low.
Only reason it might sell on PC is because of the burn people still have with the GTA V on PC fiasco. Edit: And with that I mean that we still don't have a PC version.
Only reason it might sell on PC is because of the burn people still have with the GTA V on PC fiasco.
Funny you say that. Playing WD feels like pre-gaming for GTAV when it comes to PC
Is this with that line in the config file changed from 'console' to 'pc'?
According to your ratings I don't feel that people take this seriously. This guy^ is talking about this: http://steamcommunity.com/app/243470/discussions/0/540742667204945342/ I guess that this album gives you a good image of how the game SHOULD look with that config fixed: http://imgur.com/a/FqLij
Driving sequences lag like fucking crazy. At best I get like 5 FPS during driving. If the cops are chasing me, and it's raining it's over my game freezes. Apparently lowering resolution by any degree from 1920x1080 drastically reduces lag, and it appears all this game does is upscale from 1280x720. There is absolutely no change in detail when changing resolutions.

All I get during driving is occasional jerkup as I assume it loads the next part of the map.
I'm saving that steam community thread, saw some neat things like disabling mouse acceleration and such.
