I don't want CC on this actually. Just wanna show you guys what we've made. You can comment and such, but we kinda can't fix it before we're recording again :D http://www.myspace.com/magikmushrooms
In the most non-offensive way... You guys sound like a very cheap rip off of Rush.
Rush? Oh, i heard some of it, and it gave even less sense. But thanks, i guess.
Change the name, Magi"k" makes you sound pretty gay, and Magic(k) Mushrooms is pretty unoriginal. Lots of people judge a band by their name, not saying they should, just saying. May I recommend Shroom Wizards, or Shroomdini, or Mushmagic, or something a little less used a thousand times.
Hmm, the bandname is not permanent if that helps :) We just don't know what name to use yet. What do you think about the music?
Is the singer a girl or a pre-pubescent boy?
Boy. Even though his voice is kinda light, i think he is good at singing.
The name affects the band greatly, that's why I immediately listened to Death.
I think it is pretty cool. Music sounds good, singer has an interesting voice, and there is a good flow.
Thanks Pepin! That was a great comment. Also, don't judge the book by it's cover guys, if you haven't allready, give it a listen :D
I can't work if it's your drummer or your bassist, but someone is finding it really difficult to keep in time. Think it's your bassist. It's really distracting. It's amazing how your vocalist sounds like Grace Slick from Jefferson Airplane, despite being a boy. How old is he, out of interest? Lots of potential there though imo
:suicide:HORRIBLE! Just kidding it was good.
I enjoyed Paperplanes, it's catchy. Nice.
Paperplanes fucking rocks dude, the singer is insane!
Thanks guys! @ Kenton. Actually i think it's me (the guitarist) in Paperplanes i time it wrong sometimes :D But thanks, we will try and be more acurate next time we record. Also, the vocalist turned 14 in christmas. The others in the band are 15 years old. I appreciate this comment very much! @ Meepugh. Thanks, glad you liked it :fuckyou: @ jegglypuff and Xoniao. Thank you very much. I am very, very happy to hear this.
it's pretty awesome, and that kid has a hiiiigh pitched voice.

Unless of course it's the OP, and then he just needs to practise some more.
I liked paper airplanes, something I might actually listen too. Continue
You need a legit banner. As of now it makes me want to click off. Seriously these are things that people really pay attention to. Music isn't really anything special as of now. Mixing could be much better. Try to get some more interesting elements in there. -realized you posted his age- He's prepubescent. You will be 200% better if you stay till he's older.
The kids sounds like Ozzy cant understand a word he's saying.
I really dislike it when the singer sings softly, but he does really good when he shout-sings. Overall good flow, but the singer kind of ruins it.
Thanks guys, i agree with you. We actually only started playing together about half a year ago. The first song we ever made together was Paperplanes. And yes, it will be better when we grow older, but that doesn't stop us from playing concerts and stuff. Also, mynames2long, sorry, i am not trying to be an idiot but your avatar kinda makes me ignore that. Sorry :fuckyou: But overall, thanks guys. the critic is very constructive. I like it.
Tool If you knew shit about me, which you probably would if you spent more time here, you'd know that I like a lot of non-metal music. That includes classic rock like Jimi Hendrix, UFO and Rolling Stones, punkrock like Ramones and Iggy Pop and some other indie-ish stuff like Electric Six and The National. Hell, I even enjoy some Jazz at times. You are probably one of those people who, as soon as you hear somebody likes metal, instantly place them in the "metalhead" category which means that they listen to asphalt grinding and screaming teens and nothing else. And even if I did only listen to metal - why would it matter? Did I in any way critisize the style of your music? Did I ever tell you that it wasn't "br00t4l" enough? No. I was legitimately criticizing your music aand giving you advice on what to improve. That is, TRYING TO HELP YOU. So show some fucking gratitude sometimes and don't judge me based on what kind of music I presumably like.

I usually don't get angry over pointless stuff, but this is an important question to me. Ie, stupid generalisation.

Everything just needs a little polish but I could see myself listening to this really often.
Cool. Also mynames2long: Yes, i don't know who you are. Sorry, now chill down. And i don't generalize, so stop braggin about me doing so.

I really don't think you sound anything like Rush, in fact I'm not sure what band I'm thinking of that you sound like, but you sound a bit like a 70's-80's band and I like it alot. Like the singers voice, it's probably going to change A LOT though considering his age.
The vocals in "Paperplanes" and "A Star" are good in that they are mostly in-tune. The sound is especially sweet in "Paperplanes". Your music isn't bad it's just rather... generic. Most noticeably in "A Star" it just sounds like your guitarists play a shit load of power chords and nothing else. In "Noname" the vocals are pretty flat throughout. Your singer has a good voice right now but I guess only your friends are gonna enjoy listening to the band because I'm guessing you're all like 14 or something based off the singer's voice. Hopefully when the singer's voice breaks properly he'll still retain his musical talent. I wish your band the very best of luck. Keep on truckin'.
The singers voice perfectly fits into "Paperplanes", that was awesome In the rest..well...kinda less.
