Medieval Anno mixed with banished and a little bit of settlers. Seems pretty cool.
Ah, was hoping to see a little more control over the unit combat.. Always wanted to see a medieval RTS on this scale with the micromanagement of a game like Supreme Commander. Looks fresh, though.
that fog of war/exploration is beautiful
Looking forward to trying this out. It's like civilisation had a baby with total war and a bit of europa universalis mixed in. I'm still waiting for a medieval grand strategy game with personal interactions and character based gameplay as CK2, state diplomacy like EU4, trading like Grand Ages and combat like Total War games. Actually if someone made a Total War real time instead of turn based it would be close enough for me. Turn based games feel cheap to me, like you're playing a board game, not waging war with real strategy.
WOW he just uploaded a part 2
"Lets play, a little Grand Ages: Medieval" Video 37 min long.
"Lets play, a little Grand Ages: Medieval" Video 37 min long.
It's a little compared to quil18's other videos, which are like 4 hour streams broken into 35 min chunks, then continued across weeks.
I'm not complaining. In fact I'm waiting to see more, just thought it sounded funny.
Looks like my type of game. At 8:52 though, he got an offer from that NPC village for a transit agreement, and they were offering him 7,500, but he declined it and instead asked them for 3,500? Or did I understand that wrong. AFAIK it was the NPC sending him the request, but he thought they were demanding it? Anyways, can't wait, definitely will buy this when it's out, looks fun.

It said offer though, not demand, so that's why I think they were willing to pay for a transit agreement. Plus, when he offered them less money, they accepted? So surely if they were asking for 7,500, they wouldn't have been alright dropping down to 3k. Also, one thing that really bugs me about let's play videos is when I want the person to mouse over a button to see what it does. For example, when he was having trouble increasing worker production rate or whatever it is, I was hoping he'd explore a few more options.
