In Defense of Animals, an international animal rights and rescue organization, called for the boycott of the game because it allows players to run over and kill animals. The group feels such violence sends an unacceptable message to players, many of whom are children.
Jack Carone, a spokesman for In Defense of Animals, told TMZ the game propagates animal torture and "institutionalized violence" against animals.
"The makers of this game have traded decency for money" Carone told TMZ, adding, "Encouraging the darkest impulses of young people is not an admirable pursuit … Animals don't need any more targets painted on them in the name of fun."
Stupid? yes.
Runs over 100 people '...', runs over dog 'WOW THIS GAME IS AN OUTRAGE!!!'
Good heavens just think of those pixely animals and all the pain they feel. /s
This is just some publicity stunt, never heard of this group before and they're using the game's success to make themselves known.
What a bunch of hypocrites, jeez. How about these people do something that actually helps animals for once
Well, you can run over people too. As far as I've played the game never "encourages" you to run over animals. It's just something that is logically possible to do. This is dumb.
I'm literally vegan and I love enjoy going out of my way to hit coyotes in gta5 shut the fuck up defense of animals

The game is 17+ rated, it's the parents fault that children are playing.
Surprised this wasn't PETA striking up bullshit, but yet another organization. Why don't they boycott for the murder of humans, since what they're doing isn't even helping animals. Just cause you kill pixelated animals at your own will doesn't mean you'll end up murdering dogs as a hobby.

I can't take people seriously when they try to use excuses like this :v:

headphone warning
and yet no one cared about this
Sucks for them, Rockstar made too much money to give a fuck
They make the boycott after the billion dollars profit?
You sure showed them! How about making something like an animal shelter and actually help animals instead of this pathetic attempt?
The game is 17+ rated, whose fault is that other than the parents?
People really need to remember that kids aren't walking into game stores buying these games themselves

"dogmeat has died"
no shit
Someone needs to ask the animals how they feel about this
They should boycott real life too then.
Well, you can run over people too. As far as I've played the game never "encourages" you to run over animals. It's just something that is logically possible to do. This is dumb.
All the times I have hit animals so far have been by accident, like genuine accidents. Fucking dear running across the roads in the dark.
Well, the more scandals, the more popular GTA gets. It happened, it happens, it will happen again.
Yeah have fun with that boycott, this is Rockstar's face right now

what a strange stock photo
If kids abuse animals then that's the parents fault for not instilling proper morals, not rockstars.
Don't Homo Sapiens count?
what a strange stock photo
All stock photos are strange
Boycott a game that made a billion dollars in 3 days?

I'd say pretty well
All the times I have hit animals so far have been by accident, like genuine accidents. Fucking dear running across the roads in the dark.
Same here. Id be flying down a dirt road, all the sudden a deer darts out from the bushes. I slam on the brakes and try to avoid him, but he still meets my bullbar and goes flying.
If anything, i think the game could teach people to be careful when driving at night
They should boycott oxygen while they're at it.
[editline]22nd September 2013[/editline]
After all, oxygen is consumed by animal abusers, too.
What about the moo moos in Minecraft! Oh god please wont someone think about the poor moo moos!
Like Rockstar cares if people boycott the game, they have $1 Billion and counting in their pockets, this will do nothing
We need to boycott people to stop all crime and wars from happening ever.
