I got auto-kicked and banned because of this. Wasn't the first time, either.
I hit the right mark, but it released too early and crashed into the hill.

Has anyone else had similar issues with Napalm in this game? All of the other abilities tend to hit their mark, even the VC arty, (Which is inaccurate) but where the canisters are going to land always feels like a total crapshoot.
no cant say that I have. I have however always had trouble with aiming it. Sometimes the arrows simply don't show up.

The arrows will do nothing for the jet.
They only affect the Canberra's direction - napalm is always AI calculated to maximize damage

I don't know exactly how the AI calculates the approach, if it's dependent on stuff like commander's location he's calling it from, where the enemies are located, exactly where in the grid square the mark is, where your team is in relation to the mark, etc. I've tried testing it offline and it honestly seems pretty random. One theory is the vectors are just determined by where the mark is in relation to the center of mass of the map.
Now imagine this is how you died in real life
