I noticed that I never see any videos by him around here! I'm pretty curious about the kind of responses it'll get.
a nice dose of potassium and vitamin b6 :smug:
[sp]good video though[/sp]
someone should tell bj to stop tapping his mic
Now there's a youtubers name I've not heard in a while
He hasn't dipped his balls in boiling oil or shoved items up his ass recently so he's basically on the down low right now.

he should shove his balls in his ass, maybe then people will notice him
He makes some good points about the backlash to PC culture and SJWs, but it's honestly nothing that wasn't said the day after the election.
He says everything so harshly and bitterly though. I would understand his tone if it were the day following the election, but it's been almost three weeks, most people have calmed down and have already realized most of what he's said.
i don't get why this video is getting dumped down he makes some good points

okay maybe that's why I have'nt seen many videos like this ( well maybe Mundanematt ) he had a better tone though

If you ever speak ill of SJWs or Islamists on youtube you're very likely to attract an audience that's a lot more racist than you probably would've wanted, and they'll will rip you apart if at any point they think you're going "soft" on what they perceive to be the enemy. Channels like this guy's have to deal with shit like that constantly.
Most of the people in this thread aren't criticizing anything in the video, though. It's mostly jokes about stupid stuff the creator of the video in the OP has done in the past.

That's actually my bad, I posted this a bit late he made the video about 2 weeks ago.
About the tone, I think that's just a part of the AMA character. TJ has mentioned he plays up his character to sound harsher because he gets better responses to his videos that way
TJ has said and done quite horrible shit in the past. It's not just his character. Tho I still kinda like his videos. He's quite a sell-out and panders real fucking hard to his audience at the cost of credibility, but he's still just an entertaining guy at times.
The video is kind of boring and kind of misguided even from just the title from a political science aspect though, Hillary WAS a hardcore liberal by pretty much every measure. TJ is somewhat calling for a return to the new deal coalition-type democrats that began dying off hard when mcgovern lost in 1972 big time (mcgovern wanted to give us universal basic income, in 1972!) Incrementalism IS generally the liberal way. What he's really advocating is for liberalism to be kicked to the curb in favor of social democrats pretty much. He also weirdly lunges at radicals that the common man hardly has any idea or interaction with and didn't really cause Hillary's loss.

I can't recall anything particularly horrible he's done. The biggest scandal that comes to mind was the shit-talking he did online with an alleged rape victim which he later publicly apologised for.
As for the sell-out thing, youtube is his primary source of income so naturally he does advertising but he approaches it pretty transparently.
He can be an asshole (I say that lovelingly lol) but he seems pretty intellectually honest to me. I'll admit I'm an avid fan of his channel so perhaps a bit biased but I can also say I've watched his videos and the drunken peasants podcast pretty regularly for some years now

There is that. There's also him talking about 14 year olds with big luscious asses and why you shouldn't criticize people for oggling them. There's him calling suicide victims weak. There's a whole lot of other gross shit he's said regarding rape and women. And he does apologize for these things quite often, but when someone consistently keeps fucking up like this you really have to wonder about their character.
I'm not quite talking about the ads. But the candid fiasco is fucking hilarious where he has a contract to support a service that actively goes against his ideals lol. But I just mean his audience, he'll push certain opinions strongly and associate with people he probably wouldn't otherwise (such as milo, you could just fucking tell he was only putting with milo on the drunken peasants because milo was the hot hip thing among his audience.) He even outright admits in videos to be pandering hard to his audience at times by saying stuff like how they essentially demand certain things.
I think intellectual honesty is his weakest part, it ties into the pandering. Even with things I agree with he still loves using manipulative rhetoric and misrepresenting his opposition, because that sells. Even atheists quite often say he's detrimental to the cause because of that and his abrasiveness. Richard Dawkins is probably a better example of an asshole with some intellectual honesty. I also don't think Dawkins has ever scammed anyone.
Even despite this shit I still watch him and the DP tho lmao

I'm not too familiar with some of the terms you're using here but I can say definitively that the radicals you're talking about aren't a fringe minority. These radical left ideas (thought policing, identity politics, political correctness) and the people behind them are pretty influencial in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, and Sweden. They continue to spread into our society throughout our media and influence our government. That's not to say that most people agree with it, but those who do are very vocal about it and I would argue most people are exposed to them in some way or another.
I attribute some of the reason for the victory of a figure as controversial as trump to his lack of regard for this politically correct anti-free speech ideology that has gained traction that many americans want to stomp out

Pretty much this, some of his opinions are agreeable but it's mixed in with some genuinely concerning behaviour and attitudes along with some occasional attempts to stir up drama with other youtubers or something. I stopped watching his channel around the time he picked a fight with another youtuber for saying our media is broken when it's focusing absolutely everything on one girl who died (I think the casey anthony case) rather than the massive pile of issues society is facing

That's such an internet powered viewpoint about the influence radical "regressives" as youtube commentators like to refer to them as have in the world. Also, Donald Trump really didn't do well at all. Hillary just did worse, people who normally voted didn't show up this time because she offered no real economic vision that they were desperate for. Bill Clinton was even warning her about this, and Bernie ranted about it after the election, despite being even more strongly in favor of social justice. The important issue to most people isn't scary feminists, it's whether they'll have money in their pocket and be taken care of or not, it's why TJ still absolutely loved Bernie despite Bernie's vehement support for things like BLM and the KKK (as TJ described feminism as.)
Obama had a pretty good quote on this back in 2008 :
You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not.
And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.
This is actually the first I'm hearing about the Candid thing. I remember seeing the promo videos but i never looked into it. I'm pretty suprised and disappointed about some of the shit I found when I looked it up but I still need to look into it a bit more.
None of the controversial stuff he says bothers me mainly because he likes being inflamatory but he generally backs his opinions up with a reasonable argument.
Do you think he was soft on Milo for the fans? Thats the only thing that would bother me. I dont think it matters if he likes the guest or not since they don't always have people they agree with on the show.
Maybe I just have a soft spot of TJ but I never noticed him taking people out of context. If you had like a video example I would appreciate it.
I agree Richard Dawkins is the shit.
Also its awesome to talk to another DP fan since almost everyone I know finds them annoying lol.

Aside from on social justice and feminism Milo and TJ are pretty much antithetical in so many ways. Milo is a conservative and TJ says pretty spiteful things about conservatives all the time. Though that video was a long time ago so maybe they were less antagonistic to eachother on-air than I remember. What I remembered pretty much was the other guests getting into really heated shit with milo, with TJ arguing against him too, but in a very soft way.
And it's not really taking his opponents out of context that he does. But what he tends to do is find the most faulty opponents, easily defeats them, and then talks broadly about an entire set of ideas. It's the kind of argumentative style anyone can use to easily destroy any group.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7mrN8VrALQ
Here's one example. He takes a video of someone talking about subconscious bias and then talks about the mistakes of the video and mocks the speaker without really attacking the core concept of subconscious bias. If you're being intellectually honest, you should try to find the strongest form of an argument and deal with that, rather than just some random kid's video. Ofc it's not like a good ol' circlejerk and reaffirming your own beliefs are bad or anything, everyone does it since being super honest and thorough takes a long ass time and isn't nearly as entertaining, and his job is to entertain.

I'm dumb as fuck, sorry. I read that as Bernie vehemently supports the KKK and that he (TJ) thinks they are feminists.
You guys should watch this video, he makes a great point about hillary losing due to her incrementalism.
This is the democratic parties fault.

I mean hell, that's what happened to Thunderf00t. When Brexit came around he came out rightfully against it, and a bunch of his usual viewers dumped him because of it.
