Speaking of which, Lego sets that were like in 2003 that costed 40-100 bucks now are really expensive http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-10123-Cloud-City-Used-Complete-/200946934199?pt=Building_Toys_US&hash=item2ec95ee1b7
You have to give them back when you're done?
How do they keep track all the individual pieces? A good portion of clients are parents giving them to their children. Children are not known to meticulously keep track of Lego pieces.
I'd pay $39 just for the experience of building that super star destroyer
You have to give them back when you're done?
Well yeah that's what rental means

I'm sold.
No charge for lost pieces
What's stopping me from "misplacing" the entire set?
I'd pay $39 just for the experience of building that super star destroyer
Enjoy your aching foot and hours of frustration.
I'd pay $39 just for the experience of building that super star destroyer
All the Lego Star Destroyers, Death Star, Millenium Falcons ever made(there have been many versions of each, except for Death Star I think).
How do they keep track all the individual pieces? A good portion of clients are parents giving them to their children. They have replacements bags full of pieces that are included when sent out.
I would sign up just to build all those Star Wars sets. $39 bucks for a good few hundred worth of sets. Besides my sets always seen to get dusty in the corner and eventually break down after I've finished them.
Enjoy your aching foot and hours of frustration.
Even though sometimes I made something wrong in a big Lego set, it is always such a fucking pleasure building with Lego bricks for me.
It's just too good to be true.
they weigh the sets when they mail them and receive them. each set is also mailed with a spare parts bag of 25 most commonly lost pieces
That's a very clever idea but I'd be concerned about that "no charge for lost pieces" - what's to stop me then from renting the same set a few times and losing a few pieces here and there, so eventually I'd have the entire set at home? That's an extreme but if a system can be abused it will be abused [editline]9th August 2013[/editline]
Enjoy your aching foot and hours of frustration.
I take it you didn't play much with Lego as a child. My fingers literally bled sometimes and I could spend hours searching for one little piece Was it worth it? Hell yes.
What's stopping me from "misplacing" the entire set?
They mean missing pieces like a 2x8 brick or a minifig blaster, not everything.
mail them back mega bloks instead the ultimate crime
I just remembered how much Lego I have somewhere. If I assembled the kits again from when I was a kid, I could probably retire.
Hmm, I want to try this really bad but I can't help but feel that I'll put it together and want to display it but I can't because I gotta send it back. So I question why I even wanted to build it in the first place. The only good ones cost $50 a month to get.
What's stopping me from "misplacing" the entire set?
They'll make you walk the lego pit.
They'll make you walk the lego pit.
Swim in it.
Holy shit imagine losing some of those lego pieces.
something tells me that this while aimed at kids will not really attract kids more like you guys who want the big sets, which means they'll be shelling out big bucks buying hundreds of super-star destroyers and only making 40$ a month, also whats to stop you from keeping what you have after you've canceled the service [editline]9th August 2013[/editline] though i wouldn't mind renting the mindstorm set or the at-at walker
Well it takes about 5 days for you to receive your new set once they get the old set back, so it would take a pretty damn long time for you to get enough pieces for the whole set.
let's keep 5 pieces per set every time I get it and keep paying 40 bucks a month until I get all 4,000 pieces instead of spending a couple hundred to buy the actual set criminal genius
Are there extra charges for all the teeth marks on all the flat 2x1 bricks from trying to prise them apart?
I once had a Lego Millennium Falcon when I was a kid. I think my cat stepped on it and it snapped in half so I disassembled it and built whatever I wanted out of the pieces. I hear they're worth thousands now.
