The arguement rages on (wat), which would be better in today's life? PC or Laptop? It's baffled me, I dislike the laptop due it's it Flat-Ass Keys, but I need Facepunches opinion on the Laptop/PC. I just know somebody's going to say Mac. So what's your opinions on the Laptop or PC? (User was banned for this post ("arguement" - garry))
This would go into the Hardware and software section But to contribute so I don't get banned: PC
I like laptops. But if you're going for performance over practicality a desktop is best for you.
Quite obvious in terms of performance, and sometimes even portability if you buy a cube case. PC.
Desktop computer. The only downsides are that it's not portable, and it generally takes more power. Other than that, it's better in every way. Cheaper and more powerful.
PC. Anyone who purchases a gaming laptop is a fool. It's just a waste of money, because you could get a really good PC for the same amount of cash.
In regards to what? Taking it out and about a laptop'll win, for intensive shit a desktop'll win considering that both laptops and desktops are both PCs.
I think PC is better.
Laptops are for school work and work and portability and pretty much anything that doesn't need a lot of power. Desktops are for things that need a lot of processing power or when you need a big work area. (Dual monitors)
Getting a laptop is much more practical if you travel alot, but if you are at home more, then it would be better to get a PC.
Sega Genesis
There is no hands-down winner. Laptop has portability, but is nowhere near the processing power of a computer. I'd go with a hardcore PC at home, and a netbook for on-the-go, just to get the best of both worlds.
Laptop is better for the top of your lap. Desktop is better for the top of your desk. The clue to their purpose is in the names.
PCs you get more bang for your buck. Build your own, save some money, have a tower of blue/green/red glowing destruction.
What the fuck? Isn't it like this? Windows laptop= PC Windows stationary= PC So the correct argument would be "What is better, Stationary or laptop?" And me myself, stationary for gaming, laptop for mobility.
I think the OP has laptops and Macs confused. Desktops are good for gaming, but laptops can be taken to bed.
I love my desktop, it's big and considerably more powerful and cheaper than any of the laptops I was looking at while buying it. At the same time I love my netbook, it's extremely convenient, I can toss it in my pocketbook and I've been able to make last minute changes to presentations in class. If I had to pick just one, I'd stick with a desktop, I find that laptops feel rather cramped.
It's better to have a desktop and a laptop.
I think the OP has laptops and Macs confused. Desktops are good for gaming, but laptops can be taken to bed.
Nah, I don't have macs and laptops confused, hah, people are rating me dumb. I have both, but I want Facepunches' opinion on both.
I always go; Cheap laptop and Über desktop PC.
This is the same as asking which is better between a car and a truck. The truck is stronger and can generally do more, but the car is better for travel. Laptops are for portability, desktops are for cost:power.
PC. Anyone who purchases a gaming laptop is a fool. It's just a waste of money, because you could get a really good PC for the same amount of cash.
Not everyone buys a gaming laptop for gaming. I know a lot of people that need that kind of hardware on the go for work. Stuff like video editing can be very hardware intensive.
