It came out on May 11th about 6 hours ago on the Japanese DRM-free indie platform Playism, and follows the story of a frog tasked to clean up some teleporters for his company. About time he came out with another game. Hopefully this sells well enough for him to fund Cave Story 2.
Nice a new game by Pixel, I don't get why the specs are that high though. For example it says that on Windows 7 you'd need DirectX 11[del] and a 3ghz CPU. [/del] Got confused with another game.
Why is this newsworthy? (User was banned for this post ("Why reply" - Craptasket))
Why is this newsworthy?
because pixel is awesome
8-bit retro styled graphics are soooo cool
I find this game to be slightly unsettling
8-bit retro styled graphics are soooo cool
graphics dont mean shit if you can create a game that is fun as hell to play, has good characters, great music, and influences indie games for years to come, and been revered by many as a must-play indie game ofc im talking about cave story, but i wouldnt doubt most of that would apply to kero blaster as well, not to mention CS had "sooo cool retro graphics" as well
oh fuck yeah finally, gonna play this the first chance I get. been waiting for a year for this. [del]view my title for an example of how much I love Pixel :V[/del]
Cave Story looked better IMO
oh my god yes it's literally cave story with a frog [editline]11th May 2014[/editline] RIBBIT
No Steam, I think I'll pass
8-bit retro styled graphics are soooo cool
What did you hope to achieve by saying that. Are you that insecure to announce that these retro graphics have no effect on you?
Doesn't look all that great to be honest
I'm not a fan of the art style of this one but it looks fun as heck to play. I don't mind that it's retro style I just don't think it's as well done as others I've seen. Like Fez or something. EDIT: Or even Cave story!
-snip- sigh, i rather not get banned.
Some of the reviews are claiming it only takes about 2 and a half hours to beat, but that it's still overall really fun. I'll check it out at some point. Shame it's so short, though.
Looks like a fun enough shooter platformer. Since I'm certain Pixel can be relied upon to nail the technical gameplay I imagine the real factor determining what mileage this has will be the story and details, just like with his previous game.
8-bit retro styled graphics are soooo cool
cave story was literally the game that started the retro worship trend in indie gaming
