They use real lions but give them gum to chew on so it looks like they're talking

They might do it like how the play does (great play btw) where the the main characters wear clothing symbolic for the animal

They don't need cgi for that. Maybe the entire cast will actually be wearing cgi fursuits.

I think its their way of introducing the classics to a new generation, while giving the parents nostalgia and the "wow" factor of seeing the classic films updated.

It's a smart move, but I'm not too fond of the live-action myself.

Also I think Reboot is a bad name, its more of a re-imagining/Retelling.
