According to an incident report by the Bamberg Police Department, the problems came to light on January 14, when rumors about the relationship began circulating around the school. On that same day, students told officers they witnessed an incident where Miller's wife, who works for the school, got into a verbal altercation with him and the victim.
A supplemental police report states that the victim denied any sort of sexual contact with Miller, but did know him and admitted to communicating with him.
The Orangeburg Times and Democrat quotes Bamberg School District 1 Superintendent Phyllis Schwarting as saying that Miller will resign from his position. Miller's attorney said Friday afternoon that Miller had resigned.[/quote]

The only reason I even remotely care is because the marching band competition my school does the best at is hosted by Bamberg-Ehrhardt. Also, this school is complete shit, in case you were wondering. It has broken glass, the phrase "At 2:00 we learn at 4:00 we burn" painted on the entrance, and what can only be described as a bioweapon in every toilet.
Also, it's funny that he's white because the entire band is black. Normally that wouldn't be something to take note of, but their show theme for the last two years has in some way flaunted this. For example, they did a "Traditional African Music" theme my freshman year. Even this wouldn't phase some people. Those people didn't live in the heart of the south. There is some sort of mentality here that if you're black that is the only thing that defines who you are. Very few people escape that state of mind and it gets really annoying.
Honestly, I'm not surprised that this happened.
PS: I'm not racist, I'm stating a fact. I wish it weren't true, but it is. For some god-awful reason, about 70% of the black population here SUPPORTS stereotypes against themselves. Why? I just can't figure it out.

I looked at that school on Google streetview, damn it IS a crappy looking school.
Although I'm not sure why you find it perplexing that a mostly black school band would like to play something other than typical white people music. I live in Southern California, lots of different cultures represented here in everything, so it doesn't faze me that people like to connect with their own people's history in one way or another.
