UK Foreign Secretary William Hague says he believes President Assad was behind a chemical attack in Syria. "I know that some people in the world would like to say that this is some kind of conspiracy brought about by the opposition in Syria," said Mr Hague. "I think the chances of that are vanishingly small and so we do believe that this is a chemical attack by the Assad regime." It was "not something that a humane or civilised world can ignore". Pressing for UN weapons inspectors to be given access to the site, the UK foreign secretary said: "It seems the Assad regime has something to hide. "Why else have they not allowed the UN team to go there?" The UK had not ruled out any options for the future, added Mr Hague. "Any option that complies with international law and could save innocent lives, we have to be open to those options," he said, but added any decisions would come later and he would not speculate about them. [...] Mr Hague said: "We need to make sure the world knows the facts of what has happened and that means the UN team that is in Damascus - only 20 minutes travel away - being able to get there and to investigate."
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-23812398 The regime has certainly been acting really odd about the whole affair. But I guess this is something that needs to be investigated thoroughly.
Of coarse they would say that...
Of coarse they would say that...
Who?
Gah, at first I thought it was a statement from the ICJ in Hague. Considering it's a statement without proof from the foreign secretary of the UK I won't ascribe that much worth to it yet.
I seriously doubt that Assad launched those chemical weapons, doesn't really make sense.
tbh this is really fishy, assad knows not to do this shit, this would only benefit the rebels nobody else
tbh this is really fishy, assad knows not to do this shit, this would only benefit the rebels nobody else
Why there have been several supposed chemical attacks already, With growing severity. Not to mention some general who fled the country said that Assad honestly doesn't give a fuck and would use them because he thinks the world wouldn't do anything. Assad is probably right.
tbh this is really fishy, assad knows not to do this shit, this would only benefit the rebels nobody else
He has nothing to worry about, he knows Russia blocks any attempt of intervention and the gas helps him demoralize the rebels. He's also stated before that he keeps his chemical weapons under high protection and I haven't heard of these chemical weapons being raided so how did the rebels get them?
Why on earth would Assad use chemical weapons in a conflict that he is winning.. what could he possibly gain from it other then to give western nations a reason to invade?
Why on earth would Assad use chemical weapons in a conflict that he is winning.. what could he possibly gain from it other then to give western nations a reason to invade?
Why did Saddam use chemical weapons? They're great for squashing dissent. They pretty much amount to terror weapons.
Why did Saddam use chemical weapons? They're great for squashing dissent. They pretty much amount to terror weapons.
How do we know that Saddam used or even had chemical weapons?
How do we know that Saddam used or even had chemical weapons?
This is a joke right. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Anfal_Campaign
How do we know that Saddam used or even had chemical weapons?
Because the US gave him chemical weapons
On February 9, 1994, Senator Riegle delivered a report -commonly known at the Riegle Report- in which it was stated that "pathogenic (meaning 'disease producing'), toxigenic (meaning 'poisonous'), and other biological research materials were exported to Iraq pursuant to application and licensing by the U.S. Department of Commerce." It added: "These exported biological materials were not attenuated or weakened and were capable of reproduction."[30] The report then detailed 70 shipments (including Bacillus anthracis) from the United States to Iraqi government agencies over three years, concluding "It was later learned that these microorganisms exported by the United States were identical to those the UN inspectors found and recovered from the Iraqi biological warfare program
what if it was discovered that "the opposition" used the chemical weapons? would everyone be jumping at the idea of supporting the assad regime in the civil war?
Assad doesn't even need to use chemical weapons, he's winning without them.
what if it was discovered that "the opposition" used the chemical weapons? would everyone be jumping at the idea of supporting the assad regime in the civil war?
Implying they weren't supporting Assady-kun already.
Assad doesn't even need to use chemical weapons, he's winning without them.
So was Saddam.
I seriously doubt that Assad launched those chemical weapons, doesn't really make sense.
No one else in Syria (to the rest of the worlds knowledge anyway) has the ability to launch chemical weapons in the way that allegedly happened.
Why did Saddam use chemical weapons? They're great for squashing dissent. They pretty much amount to terror weapons.
"Terror weapons" can be used to describe any weapon ever used against another human being.
"Terror weapons" can be used to describe any weapon ever used against another human being.
if you wanted to be a pedantic shit then maybe your call
"Terror weapons" can be used to describe any weapon ever used against another human being.
There's a difference between being shot and suffocating as your nervous system feels like it's been set on fire.
http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/world/2013-07/10/c_132526745.htm
Lol related stories: http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/world/2013-07/09/c_132523266.htm Because they found some common industrial chemicals used in plastic production.
Assad doesn't even need to use chemical weapons, he's winning without them.
He didn't really need to randomly shell civilian citys too
Lol related stories: http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/world/2013-07/09/c_132523266.htm Because they found some common industrial chemicals used in plastic production.
yeah, but they are just reporting things that syria says and besides this was just a random site i found covering that, there are litterly hundreds of sites reporting that russia found evidence of USA giving rebels chem weps, including bbc and cnn
yeah, but they are just reporting things that syria says and besides this was just a random site i found covering that, there are litterly hundreds of sites reporting that russia found evidence of USA giving rebels chem weps, including bbc and cnn
And do you think its credible? I mean, personally I would like to see a credible source about it so we can all stop being so misinformed about the Rebels chemical weapon arsenal.
Apparently a little Blair told him... :v:
http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/world/2013-07/10/c_132526745.htm
Seems legit, I wonder why no one else has reported this.
At this point I kinda hope Assad wins a pyrrhic victory. He can enjoy his world of rubble once it's over.
