A jilted lover stabbed a 10-inch kitchen knife into his left eye in his West Lothian home before claiming his girlfriend was to blame.
Brian Barr, 26, told a court he wanted to "ruin" his then partner Lisa Beattie's life because she admitted during a drunken row she had cheated.
Ms Beattie denied hitting Mr Barr to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement on 18 January 2013.
Ms Beattie was found not guilty and told he she was free to go.
Giving evidence to a jury at Livingston Sheriff Court on Monday, Mr Barr said: "I was embarrassed that I'd done it myself, but of course anybody would be."
Quite ridiculous that one would go to such lengths to jail an ex. Relationships bring out the worst in people and this is the main reason I am single (among other things such as my bad acne).
He scores a perfect 10 for good judgment.
eye? maybe stomach or leg or smoething but dawg that's where your brain is

Normally, yes, but I question it in this case.

Besides, why not stab something that can heal good and isn't really useful? Your eye getting stabbed, you don't have very good chances at seeing through it again.

or you could, y'know, not stab yourself in the first place

oh SNAP
also I guess it's still better of him than if he stabbed her

Why stab yourself at all, this guy is a fucking lunatic.
Did something retarded, paid a really high price.

Should just do what happened to my dad, when you've been a cheating piece of shit just get attacked by your mistresses husband.
This is how pirates are born.
No wonder she was cheating on him
"An eye for my eye leaves that cheating bitch getting what she deserves"
Okay, stabbing yourself isn't exactly a good ide-

The fuck?
seppuku wrong
He got the stabbing part right, but chose the wrong target.
[sp]JK don't hurt me[/sp]
Im not even reading the comments yet, but im expecting at least one seppuku joke
Edit: Oh look. I was correct.
This reminds me of the saying:
Don't cut off your nose to spite your face.
Yeah, this will show em!

I actually had a girlfriend who went to a sketchy party after I told her that she was getting really creepy and I don't want her to harass my family or friends anymore. She ended up getting sexually assaulted at the party. I just laughed at how dumb she was.
I wonder what Shakespeare, or his characters Romeo and Juliet would have to say on the subject.
I've heard of cutting your nose off to spite your face, but this is one of the few times I've seen somebody actually take it literally, though it was his eye in this incident.
BOYFRIEND is confused!
BOYFRIEND hurt itself in its confusion!
i dunno, in that sort of situation it makes sense for him to not be thinking straight. i mean, stabbing yourself in the eye is a bit far but he was far from rational. people do stupid stuff when it comes to love and heartbreak that they end up regretting. i certainly didn't expect it to be his eye when i entered this thread, though.
Date the cheating partners spouse
Well it IS hard to control your emotions in such a situation. Irrationality is a helluva drug.

I dunno about him being lunatic but he's definitely scarred in some way
hhhhhhh

realtalk, relationships bring out the best in people too, when you're truely in love with someone, it's the most amazing feeling in the world.
im so glad i have someone, it makes you feel so good about yourself

Yeah, teenage girls getting raped is a real knee-slapper.
