My Friend died after his body shut down due to cancer

One of my good old friends from school has died today because he was suffering from Kidney cancer, and it kind of spread to its entire body. Everyone at school said he was going to survive or something, and donated some money for his Therapy, but Alas he has died yesterday duo to kidney cancer that spread through his body. He was a good kid and he never really did any wrong, but this goes to show how easily someone can die.
This is for all the people who died duo to kidney cancer..
its not your fault
I know how you feel, one of my closest friend died in a car crash years ago :sympathy:
Eventually, you'll realize there are nothing you can to do revive her, nor to see her again no matter how much you want to talk to her one last time, and will eventually move on with your life with a scarred heart that will get less painful as time passes.
...and yes, she was a girl
I was in a kidney duo in high school.
My father died because of stomach cancer.
A close family friend has breast cancer.
The kickass maintenance man at my pre/middle/junior high school just died because he had liver cancer.
We're all in the same boat, too bad obituary threads are generally looked down upon.
Call me a heartless bastard, but I don't know why you felt you needed to post this since people die of this disability every day.
That's depressing.

Cancer isn't a disability...
Sorry for your loss. Doesn't sound like you knew him well. Did you? Or was he just an acquaintance at your school?
I'll accept this thread on behave of everyone who has died due to kidney cancer. They were not here to accept this reward.
Live Strong

I refuse to call it a disease.
It is not a foreign contagion, it's mainly that something has caused YOUR cells to stop doing apoptosis correctly, so it grows out of control.
Sounds more like a disability than a disease to me.
Well, the sad part was the fact everyone thought he was gonna live, but than he died, and it kind of came to me in a shock.

What are you talking about? My cells are working fine!
Cancer is bad.

Hmm, by a technicality you may be right. However, the stubbornness you express just to not call it a disease displays yourself as someone who just wants to start arguments.

I know exactly how you feel.
The maintenance man at my old school was a very bizarre man, full of life and vitality, always a smile on his face.
Maybe four weeks ago, his arm was in immense pain. Doctors didn't find anything. He ended up walking around with it curled up in pain and it began to whither.
The doctor missed the fact that he had a broken arm, and that it wasn't healing because the cancer spread to his bones.
He died maybe four, five days ago.
Even though I didn't know him well, I can't imagine him gone, he was just ALIVE. He had a presence that was bigger than him. He could have, if he applied himself, gone much further.
He was such a powerful character, he could have easily been an actor.

The fact that you classify me as someone who wants to start arguments, forces me to believe that you like to generalize, "read a book by it's cover", and that you're someone who likes to pull something out of absolutely nothing.
I refuse to call it a disease based on the facts I have been provided.
It's not that I really will go out of my way to correct someone, I just found that in this instance I felt like expressing my opinion here.
How about getting to know someone better before you make assumptions on them based solely on one post.

Apoptosis is the process a sick cell will go through to terminate itself.
It is more commonly referred to as cellular suicide, and it's going on in your body right now.
I can guarantee you that every poster on this forum has cells that would be classified as cancerous if the issue got big enough to spread.
Thankfully many of these poster's cells are correctly terminating themselves as of this point, therefor they are functioning normally.
How about not making yourself sound retarded?

How about growing up, and not flaming someone who didn't want to start something in this thread?
Reporting and moving on.
I know how hard it is to lose someone to something like cancer.
My father died of brain cancer nearly 4 years ago, and I still miss him.
I myself had a friend die a few years ago; he and his mother were killed instantly in a car wreck with a drunk driver. His older brother survived, fortunately, but it was still a crushing loss.
It's kind of a surreal feeling, when you hear that they're dead... It's like someone is playing a joke on you. Then it slowly hits you.
My condolences to you, OP.

Saying stupid things like that is obviously to evoke something. It's like going into a women's support group, saying "Women have smaller brains than men, but whatever. I'm not trying to do anything".

Classifying everything I say as stupid, just completely turns your assumption onto yourself.
Cancer is a faceless, genderless issue, so I shouldn't have to worry about expressing my anti-cancer opinions which are based upon fact, without being ridiculed by those who obviously are itching for a fight.
We're in a thread about cancer for fucks sake, and I said what I thought, despite the fact that I feel strongly about it.
If I was to adopt your attitude, I'd never say anything because I could supposedly piss someone off.
Meow! Cat fight!
I'm sorry for your loss. :h:
Let's not start a flame war now.

Everything you say does sound stupid.

I know how you feel. It's been nine or ten years since my father died. It's caused me a plethora of issues, and I miss him greatly. He and I would have been conflicting greatly at this point if I had turned out the same, and I still wish he was around to be able to be a normal father to me.

That made no fucking sense at all, what did I just read.
I would use the Billy Madison "What you just said reaction" but it's been overused these past few days.

I think I hate you.
Reported.
Anyways, i'm sorry about your friend/fellow student. Death kinda blows.

Way to make an ass out of yourself there buddy.

So what about mesotheleoma which is caused by asbestos exposure? That's caused by something foreign.
Cancer can be caused from just about anything. Be it first/second hand smoke to exposure to chemicals.
OP: I'm in a similar boat. We found out earlier in the year that my grandma has lung cancer. She's pretty much on oxygen 24/7 now :/
Does making me want to troll this thread make me a asshole?
