Modern technology is amazing. As the accuracy of guided munitions increases, the required size of the warhead decreases, reducing risk of collateral damage even in an urban environment as seen in the video.
And then that burning car wreck rolls into a building and starts a massive fire.
"Guess I'm taking a different way home."
*poof*
I can't possibly imagine what it would be like living in another part of the world where shit like this happens. Think about how it must be to grow up in a place where explosions go off around you frequently; I can see how it could breed resent towards the aggressors.
That is pretty scary to see the car just keep going, burning. Can't believe what went through those peoples heads at the end camera running away from the place.
b-but carpet bombing looks cooler
The thing with this video clip is no matter what they use for the airstrike, you at least see some trail or quick blur of the explosive itself but this one doesn't have that, not the tiniest. So this leads me to believe that it wasn't an airstrike but more a suicide bombing. I don't really understand why though there is no trail because so many people seem adamant it was an airstrike.

yeah it looks more like a car bomb
if it were a suicide bombing you think they would try to go for an actual target and not just kind of popping in a relatively small detonation while driving down the street
Could be it was placed in the car without the owner knowing, and it was on a timer, thus it just so happened to explode in a less populated area.
Could be it was placed in the car without the owner knowing, and it was on a timer, thus it just so happened to explode in a less populated area.
completely forgot that planting a bomb on someone else's car is a valid tactic
Though the explosion does carry to the side, rather than radiate equally, which would imply a moving explosive hit it, no?
It seems that way. Also the Israeli Air Force is claiming responsibility for it. Does that mean that it definitely was an air strike? No, but it increases the odds.
It seems that way. Also the Israeli Air Force is claiming responsibility for it. Does that mean that it definitely was an air strike? No, but it increases the odds.
Or could it be personnels from the air force went in and planted a car bomb?
if it were a suicide bombing you think they would try to go for an actual target and not just kind of popping in a relatively small detonation while driving down the street
Maybe it malfunctioned? If it was a military grade weapon, it looks like a 120mm shell explosion. Or even smaller because there is still a car wreckage. The smallest laser guided weapons is a 500lb bomb, which would have destroy the whole building block in that location.
I don't care what that guy did, you can't give a country like America the power to blow people up from space.

The laser guided version is the same thing just with a laser seeker system attached to the nose and control fins on the nose and tail to give the bomb the ability to maneuver. And this is the smallest available laser guided bomb. Where do you think that I am wrong?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Griffin_(missile)
Diameter: 5.5 inches (140 mm) Weight: 45 pounds (20 kg) (w/ launch tube) Length: 42 inches (1,100 mm) Guidance: Semi-active laser homing, Global Positioning System or Inertial navigation system.[15] Warhead: 13 pounds (5.9 kg) Blast-Fragmentation[16] Propulsion: Solid-fuel rocket Range: 3.5 miles (5.6 km) surface launch; 12.5 miles (20.1 km) at altitude[16]

if it were a suicide bombing you think they would try to go for an actual target and not just kind of popping in a relatively small detonation while driving down the street
They're not exactly known for having 100% fool proof bomb making skills. They often blow themselves up making and transporting bombs. This could very easily be a case of bomb going off due to the malfunction. I mean they're driving pretty fast, which isn't something you want to do while transporting bombs.
Then this wasn't an airstrike like the source says.
Uh, no, the Griffin is a primarily air-launched weapon system.
Wait, so it's completely impossible to make something smaller than that? Yeah no, I don't think so
Then tell me what kind of air dropped ordnance it is supposed to be that is also laser guided?
Then tell me what kind of air dropped ordnance it is supposed to be that is also laser guided?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Griffin_(missile)
Idk about this, you can't see anything hit it. Either whatever hit it was going extremely fast or it wasn't an attack from anywhere else
Then tell me what kind of air dropped ordnance it is supposed to be that is also laser guided?
It doesn't have to be a bomb, there's also a variety of small laser guided missiles. It's quite likely it was a hellfire or DMS Brimstone.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Griffin_(missile)
I am sorry, I didn't know they developed that kind of missile yet. It really seems to be that kind of missile, fired from a drone. I guess technological development, especially military, is just really terrifying
