• CB Radio/mic questions

My friend gave me an old 1980's Midland CB radio that I wanted to put in my vehicle, but I'm having trouble figuring out what kind of handset microphone I need. the mic port has spots for 5 pins laid out in an arc on the top, and a notch in the bottom not unlike the ones you see on ports for old PS/2 mice and keyboards. Pictures below: EDIT: actually the pictures from my phone are FUCKING HUMONGOUS so here's a link to the album As I go through the process of trying to install it, I'll undoubtedly have more questions, so I'll post those questions in this thread as they arise rather than making a new thread. Even though I'm trying to learn more, I'm a complete novice with everything automotive (I changed my own oil once, with someone helping me) so you might have to put your answers into terms that a complete moron would understand. Thanks!

I would love to put a CB radio into my "car", but I don't like the idea of having a huge antenna. In fact, I don't have any place to put something that large.

I recently got myself a cobra 18wxstii on my truck, it has weather channel and does the job great, im also using a Dual 4' fiberglass antenna for 50$ at a NAPA store, a single wilson would cost 50$ itself.
I've got a Cobra CB installed in my TJ; absolutely fantastic for freeway driving and general offroading. I can second that unless you really need it you don't need a 12' half wave antenna like I have on my car. The basic antennas Canadian Tire or some auto shops still sell are good enough once tuned.
