The Steam Winter Sale, or Christmas sale, or Holiday sale, or whatever you call it, will begin 22nd December, Eurogamer can confirm, and last until 2nd January.
The date slipped onto NeoGAF and we have separately confirmed it.

The date was leaked about a month ago, as is tradition.
Regardless, I hope it'll be more exciting this year.

Might wait until the summer sale just to make sure it doesn't turn shit before then + lots of overpriced dlc

This is weird, usually the date is posted on the Steamworks page and that's how it gets leaked but this time I can't find any info on that.
Edit: Nevermind I found it
But I can't confirm it nor say that the date is incorrect
BECAUSE OTHERWISE VALVE WILL FUCK ME WITH A RAKE
What's the point of leaking Winter Sale dates?
It's obvious it will ALWAYS happen unless Valve HQ exploded.

It's obvious it will always happen when every moron can become a Steam dev nowadays and see this information.

People want to know the specific date. Probably so they can sort out what presents to give, or buy steam funbuck cards in good time.
I already had everything I want like years ago so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
finding stuff to get on these sales (when I can participate) is a challenge these days
I wish they had it on for longer and sooner :(
I hope the new citiees skylines dlc goes on sale

There aren't really many Denuvo games that have gotten cracked.
Honestly only really looking to get DLC for stuff like Fallout and hopefully pick up The Witcher 3 and said DLC.
Everything else either doesn't interest me or I already own it, maybe I am just jaded but the days of splashing cash randomly on anything that looked interesting is long gone for me.

I always wonder if Shovel Knight is ever going to get a real discount

Lets put it in a different perspective
- 13 out of 52 Denuvo protected games has been cracked/bypassed
- Over 15-20+ of those recently got released these 0-2 months
- Most of those games are uninteresting or not even known
- Still lots of work has been done to crack major AAA games
- The speed of cracking various in waves, some months it fast, sometimes it's not
- The cracking/bypassing team CPY has done lots of successfull work recently
Slower cracking and bypassing yes, and better the pirates get at it, and the better Denuvo get at it. An endless cycle of competition between crack teams and corporate<>private individuals and the consumers themselves. It'll be like waves constantly pushing each other in different directions. Denuvo is just a piece of technological history, and will soon perish among the others, and eventually a new method rises and threatens piracy again, again and again. Nothing's over yet folks.

Also its taking around 12-14 days on average to crack these games. (For example Deus ex crack was for the version released 12 days before)
This MGS V crack was quicker
